I was thinking about this thread during the week! Love truck.

What They're Saying - The Bulldogs Media Thread - Part 4

For a “small club” we sure do get a lot of noise. Seems like it’s not just Bailey’s head we live in rent free.

Review Dogs obilerate our bunnies GWS 113-81

He had an impressive year but I think most of his career he has never seemed to fulfil the potential he reached that year. One of those rare players who seems to mostly produce less than the sum of his many individual attributes each week. I try not to rant and rave about courage, mongrel...

Review Dogs obilerate our bunnies GWS 113-81

I would have moved English on years ago so I feel obliged to acknowledge an excellent performance tonight. Totally dominant and very important for our win. I hope he can carry it on. Bevo is shooting the lights out this season. I’m loving watching us play win or lose, and feel proud every week...

Analysis Sydney's 2024 dominance is underrated

They have a massive 23/24 regular season Boston Celtics vibe about them that people don’t really believe they’re as good as they are despite all the evidence. Won’t surprise me if they have the same result as the post season Celtics.

Coach Future of the club (Bevo, board, assistant coaches, football department)

Say what you want about Bevo the coach, and I’ve had my say, but far out he’s an impressive man. The way he’s handling the heat this week is admirable. Reminds me how lucky we’ve been to have such a great figurehead for so long. I really hope he fights through it and proves me and many others...

Autopsy This is going to be painful. The Dogs V Bombers debacle thread.

Rucking against English is the easiest job in the competition. His opponents know he has no fight; they run under the ball early, block his run and put the ball beyond his reach. On the rare occasion that English lucks in to primary position, he doesn’t know what to do with the tap because it...

Autopsy This is going to be painful. The Dogs V Bombers debacle thread.

I’m 39. I really don’t think I’m a football expert. I played at a reasonable level but never exceptional level. For multiple years in a row of sitting on level 2, I can predict the way pretty much every play is going to go long before it happens. It’s predictable, it’s ineffective and it’s sad.

Autopsy This is going to be painful. The Dogs V Bombers debacle thread.

I dunno… none of us can say for sure. One premiership and one GF in his tenure is hard to argue with historically, but I really disagree we can’t win a flag. This list can definitely win a flag with the right coach and game plan.

Probably the best list I’ve seen assembled in RWB. Long time Bevo defender. It’s over.

Strategy Trade and List management Thread Part 6 (opposition supporters - READ posting rules before posting)

I think it would be a lot easier if we talked about contract size in terms of TPP percentage. Eg Tim English’s mooted contract is worth ~6% of the the TPP or slightly over 1/20th. Makes it feel a lot more palatable than $1m for some reason when you know we have draftees and others taking up way...

Strategy Trade and List management Thread Part 6 (opposition supporters - READ posting rules before posting)

Exactly. So weird to see bulldogs fans annoyed at having quality tall depth. It can’t be under estimated that it improves our bargaining position with English too. We don’t need to sell the farm to keep him like we would have if we had Darcy and….??? as next in line. I’d have preferred one year...

Coach Future of the club (Bevo, board, assistant coaches, football department)

If this is the view of a board member then it says more about the board member and the board than it does about Grant. Grant’s record, for better or worse, is on public display. I can only hope the board member had the courage to express their view as fearlessly in the board meeting as they do...

    Best 23, Round 1 2024

Starting to feel like Sam Darcy is the Cameron Green of the Bulldogs. We know he’s the future but it’s not obvious how to fit him in the present team without doing something unnatural with selection. Here’s hoping his form demands selection this year but I don’t think he and Lobb can play in the...

    AFLW AFLW/VFLW 2025 - General Discussion

Made it to my first game this year. Hate to say it, but there are just too many ordinary footballers on the park. There is a huge gap in talent. I’ve drifted away from AFLW with the WO redevelopment and life distractions over the last couple of years, but it really seems like the competition...

Strategy Trade and List management Thread Part 6 (opposition supporters - READ posting rules before posting)

Watching Cal Ward’s season has been very reassuring in terms of what Jack Macrae can do for a lot longer yet. Neither are fast, both are tough with clean hands, even if Ward is a better mark and shot for goal, Macrae has other qualities that I think allow him to thrive for some time.

Clayton Oliver ran him down through the centre square in round 1 as Baz chased a loose ball. Made me really question his pace and I now think it’s probably overstated.
