Saints News Saints will build a training facility at Belvedere Park (Seaford)

Re: Saints to Frankston Tonight at Council from the newspaper article.

Is investing in a training ground at Casey & changing VFL Affiliates a good idea?

I would not think it is purely for that reason. I doubt that the Casey Council would build a nice facility just so MFC could please itself and stay for only 18 months. So 2 reasons: to get the growth in memberships from having people around the training base to warrant the Council...

    Goddard ?

Played half the game with Casey today. Will probably get to play with Casey again next week (dispensation as a player returning from injury) and may be ready for Round 1.

    Casey Fields on Saturday

A couple of tips from an (almost) local: If driving from the direction of the Monash Freeway, don't go through Cranbourne or follow signs towards Phillip Island. Instead follow the Monash Freeway towards Warragul and exit at Berwick-Cranbourne Road. Turn right and travel 8km to a large...

Cranbourne Leader - Kangas in talks with Casey Council

The population centre of Melbourne is certainly skewed to the south-east, although not as far as Cranbourne. But it is certainly growing very quickly in the Cranbourne area. As I posted on another thread: Excellent place for the NMFC: heaps of growth in young families to hitch...

Cranbourne Leader - Kangas in talks with Casey Council

Report in this week's Cranbourne Leader that the Kangaroos have been discussing future options with Casey Council. Casey Fields is a massive sporting complex being built by Casey Council, and the Council is supportive of getting an AFL team based there. Check out...

North Melbourne v Melbourne in Cranbourne

Absolutely correct - the easiest way to get there for sure. Only don't turn right at the first roundabout you come to or you'll end up in a new subdivision. Turn right at the roundabout on Mel 134 J7 (Casey Fields is about 1km further along at 134 E7).

Dandy Roos - Set your expression to huh?

Excellent place for the NMFC: heaps of growth in young families to hitch membership growth to the Casey Fields facility is already well advanced, and an AFL club bolted on to it would fit in perfectly a Council that is supportive of getting an AFL team (tried the Kangaroos a few years ago, and...

    Mazda Stadium - Craigieburn

I also meant to add that the match at Casey Fields earlier this year that Diamond Joe referred to was between Essendon and Hawthorn and in fact drew over 10,000 - not just a couple of thousand.

    Mazda Stadium - Craigieburn

Now this post doesn't talk about playing matches at Craigieburn or Casey Fields, but someof the others on this thread seem to be under the impression that this is part of the proposal. Let me clarify that it's certainly not what I floated. Casey Fields won't be used as a venue for AFL matches...

    Mazda Stadium - Craigieburn

Just throwing up an alternative to Craigieburn for consideration. Some years ago the Kangaroos toyed with the idea of moving to Casey Fields (where the Casey Scorpions play), but it fizzled out as the Kanagaroos focussed on an inner Melbourne location and a VFL alignment with Port Melbourne...
