Win Prizes 2026 Essendon Supercoach Comps

Hey Supercoachers I'm running a keepers league over at Bomberblitz, and we have a vacancy for one coach spot we're looking to fill. This is a great comp that has been running for about 20 years, and allows you to build your side over many years. Here's some details: You'll be taking over an...

Preview Round 1: Carlton V Richmond @ MCG, 02/04/15, 7.20pm AEST. (FREE LIKES!)

I think Houli is a very good player. Great? You're kidding, right? My point was that playing Houli and Lennon on the HB line would mean that you've got two very "outside" players in the defensive half of the ground, and that's probably too much for any AFL coach.

Preview Round 1: Carlton V Richmond @ MCG, 02/04/15, 7.20pm AEST. (FREE LIKES!)

I can see why Hardwick would pick someone like Gordon over Lennon - not that they are competing for the same spot. Gordon is a hard worker, covers a lot of ground, and puts his head over the ball. Lennon looks to be a highly skilled player, but I'm not sure he covers much ground, and his attack...

Preview Round 1: Carlton V Richmond @ MCG, 02/04/15, 7.20pm AEST. (FREE LIKES!)

Gordon doesn't get a lot of love around these parts. I'm not sure why so many are surprised that he's playing after he was one of the few to hold his head high after the Port final. What's the deal with Chris Knights? Is he injured again, or being eased into the season? I would have thought he...

Unofficial Preview Round 5: St Kilda vs Essendon- Saturday/Etihad Stadium @7:40pm

What's the deal with Dylan Roberton? He's not listed as injured, and didn't play VFL. I thought he was one of your best last year.

    Preview changes v hawks

Having watched them live last week against us, I'd be targetting Burgoyne with a Crowley tag, even if Mitchell plays. Burgoyne has been there best over the first two rounds, and is very good around the stoppages. He is also a lot more penetrating with the ball than their other mids. Someone...

Round 2 2014: Hawthorn play the IJFH All-Stars. Selection, injections, angst. Bring it all.

Was there ever a game when Thurgood didn't go off injured? There was no doubting his bravery, but he didn't have a body for AFL. And the suggestion that Lloyd's hit on Thurgood is ridiculous.

Round 2 2014: Hawthorn play the IJFH All-Stars. Selection, injections, angst. Bring it all.

Can't you multi-quote here (ie. imbed layers of quote)? Seems a bit odd. As I've said, you've been the better side of late. That includes last year when we were up and running for 2/3 of the season. But we did fall in a massive hole late in the season through mental exhaustion. It will be a...

I don't think they played him in the backline for shits and giggles.

Round 2 2014: Hawthorn play the IJFH All-Stars. Selection, injections, angst. Bring it all.

We will soon find out whether we played well, or North were just shit. I'm of the opinion that you play as well as your opposition lets you. Last year we were a top to team untill R17, and everything got too much for us. And I don't think Brisbane are a better team than North. Not by a long way...

Round 2 2014: Hawthorn play the IJFH All-Stars. Selection, injections, angst. Bring it all.

You've spanked us into oblivion lately. You're right about Roughy - I was mistaken. I guess we will see where Rioli plays. I'm tipping he will play half back. Anyway, I came here for some decent footy discussion with some Hawk supporters, not a dick measuring contest. I have no hesitation in...

Round 2 2014: Hawthorn play the IJFH All-Stars. Selection, injections, angst. Bring it all.

You obviously don't follow the footy that closely, so I'll go easy on you. Rioli has been playing as a defender, so he will match up on one of our forwards. Baguley is Essendon's best lock down small defender. Hibberd is our best running defender. And Roughead's form against Essendon has...

Round 2 2014: Hawthorn play the IJFH All-Stars. Selection, injections, angst. Bring it all.

Agree. McEvoy has never been much of a centre square ruckman. He's a damn good contested grab though, and gets his hands on it in general play. Ryder should really do more around the ground given his physical gifts.

I'd be worried if you didn't hate us. Nobody hates St Kilda, Western Bulldogs, Melbourne etc...

Round 2 2014: Hawthorn play the IJFH All-Stars. Selection, injections, angst. Bring it all.

If we can isolate Carlisle or Daniher against Hodge/Burgoyne/Cheney, we should be able to clunk a few. The problem is, isolating forwards is not easy against you guys. Despite having one of the shortest defences around, your ability to play team defence is second to none. But I've seen big...

Round 2 2014: Hawthorn play the IJFH All-Stars. Selection, injections, angst. Bring it all.

This should be a cracking match. It's our best chance against you in some time. The game will be won in the middle. Ryder should get the better of McEvoy with his tap work, but McEvoy's contested marking is a feature and should make up for our ruck supremacy. If Ryder can give Watson first...

Opinion Your top 3 most-hated clubs

The trend here is that nobody hates the pissant clubs that never win Premierships. And I'm the same! 1. Carlton 2. Daylight 3. Collingwood

    changes

Why is Greenwood always on the outer? I thought he was close to your best when you played us last year, and was pretty solid when he came into the side in the second half of the season. Especially with Swallow out, a bigger body who can win contested footy would have been handy. And he always...

Gumby and Hurley - u could build a VAFA side around them

After joining bigfooty in mid-2006, you were so confident that "big red was back", you came up with your username. You should stick with it so people can be alerted to the fact that you know absolutely nothing about footy. How is big red travelling?

Gumby and Hurley - u could build a VAFA side around them

He was no great, but still managed to dominate the clearance in the 93 GF. Even David Calthorpe was too good for Craig Bradley that day.

Won't Essendon take Hurley at 5
