Preview Who will truly break out in 2011?

I actually think that footy smarts are one of Dawes' big strengths. Thinking about his tap-ons to pendles, cloke, etc in the GF's and how he makes good space for others and often marks out alone on the lead, meaning his timing and outsmarting of direct opponents is pretty good. I'd like to see...

More surgery for Brock McLean *MB Thread*

Re: More surgery for Brock McLean terrible, terrible trade. Pick 11! Really like the look of Gysberts too. Bad luck he's injured, but in my opinion McLean has never looked like fulfilling his potential.

How can StK beat Coll? How can Coll beat StK?

I struggle to understand how/why you guys have become so arrogant. Your team has delivered absolutely nothing. Can understand it coming from Geelong fans, but you guys have absolutely no grounds to be getting cocky. You wouldn't want to choke again this year, your window is on the way down.

Deledio: what does he have to do to be elite?

Selwood, Pendlebury, Franklin, Murphy, to name a few. Talent does not mean much if it is unfulfilled. Deledio is a very talented player, but has yet to live up to his potential to the extent these others have. Great skills and pace, but does not influence games to the extent of the others.

Ross Lyon - The Trading Week

Skeppersap, These forums could do without comments like your previous one. I know at Big Footy we are not discussing the most pressing and important issues in the world, but I hope there is no place here for mindless, sexist and potentially offensive posts. Your comment was unnecessary, not...

Which 2009 finalist will crash to the bottom 4 in 2010?

Essendon would be the most likely for me.

No Young KPP in last 2 Drafts.

Not sure if this has been mentioned but in terms of developing a team it seems to make more sense to draft key position players a couple of seasons before midfielders as they generally tend to take a while longer to properly come on as players. Consider the rising stars of the past, there have...

John Anthony - Do We Sometimes Forget...

now we are comparing anthony and ablett? c'mon mate. Im not saying we should build a forward line around him- but, the bottom line is: he is young, has done really well in his first full year of AFL. Hawkins has improved, but has had to be moved up the field and pinch hit in the ruck to try...

John Anthony - Do We Sometimes Forget...

probably because anthony has been a better player and done the job more often, and therefore has not warranted being regularly benched or dropped every other week. Hawkins aint made for the modern game-too one dimensional.
