It not a binary argument, no one likes to lose, especially how we did in the prelim. Some people are making extreme arguments that the last 10 years were a total waste and that is causing others to come out of the woodwork like me and counter this because we feel it is offensive to the football...
Lol, yes I'm 40 and have been a cats fan my whole life. I did say it wouldn't be a popular opinion. Ive watched almost every game for 30 years and enjoy wins where we play at our best much more than boring wins. Finals wins are more enjoyable, and of course gf wins are the most enjoyable, but...
This wont be a popular opinion, but for me as a fan, premierships aren't really the name of the game. I enjoy my weekend a lot more when the cats win a game, and have thoroughly enjoyed the last 10 years without winning the last game of the season. As a fan I'd much rather enjoy that winning...
Its probably been discussed, but Ablett is going home, and for GC it's either get something or nothing. What is their bargaining chip? Denying us Ablett will not help them recoup their salary costs. So, if they prefer us to take Ablett over him retiring, we can offer them anything we want. Am i...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but menegola seems to me to be playing an attacking mid role and doing a pretty good job too. Wouldn't think he would now be asked to be too defensive in this game.
He is definitely influencing the game less than he has in the past. This is the definition of poor form. I don't think he should be dropped though, not even close.
It is just another analytical tool to be used alongside data like best players. If Guthrie was our fifth best but we got defeated by 100 points he probably had less influence on the game overall than if we had won and his SC score would reflect this. Scaling actually helps in this case as the...
Well i guess in Guthries case i'd make a comparison of 2015 and 2016 for a number of games to assess output and that would include a SC score.
As one example only, the last six games of 2015 result in an average SC score of 123 (avg 28 possessions, 8 tackles, 1.2 goal per game)
The last six...
Its very easy to dismiss supercoach scoring as irrelevant or silly when discussing a players performance, however the use of champion data statistics to produce an overall "score" (ie in the official afl player ranking system) can provide insight into a players influence in a game. Its just...
One thing is almost certain, all 5 top teams wont win all of their remaining games. That would require 20 individual results going to the favourite. I wouldn't bet on that multi!
I dont think we can catch sydney or gws on percentage if they dont lose a game from here.
Its not unreasonable to suggest Sydney could lose of one port, st kilda or north OR GWS could lose to north which would put us 2nd. In reality though, one of these two teams will probably keep a clean sheet...
Bartel has just turned 32 in December. Its funny how its almost assumed by popular consensus that he is past his due by date. Has he ever been called too slow before his knee injury? If so, i stand corrected. 32 is not an old man. You just don't lose that much pace unless your body is shot, and...
Of course i agree with father time, he knows his s**t. Bartle was 32 in december, people seem to think its too old to play footy. I disagree. And i think father time will have his mind elsewhere for bartel in 2016. I hope there's at least a few people who think the same way.
