In terms of our fielding compared to how it has been previously, I was reading somewhere that we have dropped 12 catches (that was towards the start of this test), while India have only dropped 3. Lets add on the 2 Gorilla dropped and it doesn't look pretty.
Our bowling has been a big sore...
How is the club going to contain their $2.1 million dollar profit if we their shareholders decide not to put as much money in ie. downgrade our memberships to basic season tickets!?!?!?!?!?!?
Agree totally that the "peoples club" will not get 40K members for the 2004 season if they proceed in the manner that they have done so. They have forgotten where their 2mill comes prodominately from - the supporters.
Part of the problem is the fact that they give 1000 tickets to the fourteen clubs that don't make it - why should they get that many tickets when their teams are not even playing........
I know for certain that all Legends, Captains and Social Club are not guaranteed - they are all into one ballot, and season ticket holders don't even get into the ballot. The one I'm not sure about is the Millenium.
Maybe we should have a system similar to the MCC members
I think it is unfair that our 20-30 year members who have shown this amount of support for this amount of time now are not guaranteed anything. There needs to be a waiting list based on how many years you have been a member of the club...
It just seems the AFL won't rest until Brisbane and Sydney win the next 50 GF's. They don't care about any VIC teams as proven with the Dogs or SA or WA teams - all they care about is creating a strong hold on the two league states.
1. Port Adelaide
2. Syderney
3. Collingwood (don't think we will make the GF however)
4. Adelaide
5. Brisbane (depends on what happens to Lynch also - if he goes they will be lower)
6. St Kilda
7. Hawthorn
8. Essendon (will do just enough as always - however always a big threat once they...
We definently found ourselves one short on GF day - particularly due to the no-Rocca factor. Josh has proven this year that he is going to be one hell of a good ruckman, but the best part is his flexiblility - seems to be very similar to Goodes from Sydney. It is a shame that they did not try...
I was just wondering if anyone had gotten the inside goss as to why Danihers contract was not renewed????
I myself cannot completely understand it - I thought that he did a pretty good job with the boys in the forward line - particularly Taz.
Agree with you totally DRoche, we all have to remember that these are the guys that got us to the GF in the first place for the past two years. Sure enough, because we played our worst game for the entire year on GF Day everyone is wanting heads to roll. Patience guys, our time is next year...
