Peptides! The *Essendrug Dopers: come smell the bull****! -PART 2

Caddy is a very very good young player. With an attitude like that, I suspect he will continue to be a top line forward. We can only hope bombers do keep losing and it forces Caddy to want to get out as soon as he can. I reckon he is a ripper.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Pick 18, Josh Weddle - now locked in until 2030

I don't know Josh at all, but this is the take that I wish to believe. He is trying but it's just not working at present. With the support of his team and coaches, he will turn it around. IMO, a stint in the twos is not the answer.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Pick 37, Henry Hustwaite - Debuts against the Dees!

exactly. It was not an inspiring 30 possession game IMO. Butler (as example) was much more expansive and very good defensively. If HH was a real offensive weapon, his lack of defensive skill may be overlooked a little, however, his attack is not world beating for the amount of ball he gets.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Pick 37, Henry Hustwaite - Debuts against the Dees!

nor physicality. HH does not really have that in his game.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Pick 37, Henry Hustwaite - Debuts against the Dees!

Deserves a go at some point as he is constantly racking them up at BH. But, as has been said ad nauseum, he lacks explosiveness and would be a liability defensively at AFL level. Gets his hand to the ball often and his handball use is good, however, he is not damaging by foot IMO. Poor mans Ned...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Josh Ward. Extends to 2029!

Ward showed a bit of class last night. He seemed more confident and used his pace well to get clear of congestion. Seems stronger and more assured. Just need that 21 possessions to consistently climb to 25+ and kick a goal every couple of games. It will come. :thumbsu:

2026 Trade/Free agent targets for HFC

I'm not sure we would be looking at Hewett, who has been omitted from a Blues lineup with one win for the year. Is not as quick as we need to balance our mids, but I think he is handy and his best is OK, but he may not get regular games for the hawks and could become a list clogger. If he was...

    Preview Round 8, 2026: Collingwood v Hawthorn, 30 April 2026, 7.30pm @ MCG

we said the same about GWS, but that didn't work out. Any team can win if they up at their top level and the other is off a touch. It isn't won until it is won.

love your work Vando. Much appreciated by those interstaters that can't get to games.

News Hawthorn in the media 2026

that is a great clip and with the benefit of hindsight, a beautiful thing to behold. Mitchell is a class act. Just one question for a history buffs. Did we beat the Kangas the following week?

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Pick 7, Cam MacKenzie, extends to 2026!

Dewnior and TD, I agree as well. He needs to drive forward with aggression a bit more often. He is too predictable to the opposition in that he usually goes backwards first. Apart from a few turnovers, I thought he was tougher around the clinches yesterday.

Autopsy Round 7, 2026: Hawks destroy Suns

we don't know if anyone has a niggle and needs a rest, but, as you say, perhaps Barrass has a rest with a 5-day turnaround. Collingwood don't have a big bodied KKP, so this seems an ideal game for him to rest. Moore and Sis obviously back, but I would also lock in Butler as a potential Diacos...

Autopsy Round 7, 2026: Hawks destroy Suns

brain dead comments from Hardwick that he couldn't understand the ump go it right. Love or hate the rule all he likes, but the ump was correct in this decision.

Autopsy Round 7, 2026: Hawks destroy Suns

i, mot worried about Weddle. He is rushing it a bit and fumbles more than we would like, however, he is still getting the ball and pumping it forward more than his opponent. he will work it out and be back in form soon I feel.

Freo going pretty well too. They have a well-balanced outfit and will be very hard to beat at their home ground.

Player Watch Welcome to Hawthorn : Jai “Duke” Newcombe - 2024 Peter Crimmins medalist - extends to 2032!

without question (IMO) our best and most important player, particularly with Day out. We would really struggle if he went down.

Toast Welcome to Hawthorn, Finn Maginness “absolute Hawthorn nuffie” and a Hawk to 2027

Great game from FInn. Well done young man. He took good options by hand and foot and did not try to do more than he is capable of. I am really pleased for him and hope this may be a new start.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Pick 7, Cam MacKenzie, extends to 2026!

I was doubting Frenchie was a genuinely good mid in a earlier thread. I still think he needs to consistently show above average midfield ability, but he was good today. If he can keep improving n that effort, he may well be the player we hope for. Seems to lack a bit of confidence at times and...

Dalton was also in the top five in most running stats which shows how hard he works. I'm big wraps for Dalts and feel he will reach Moore level within a few years.

    Preview Round 7, 2026: Hawthorn v Gold Coast Suns, 25 April 2026, 12.30pm AEST @ York Park

I am worried about this game. Will GC finally turn it on and really stamp themselves as a top chance? Fckem. It is a big game for Ward and Frenchie today and it is a very big test against the GC strong bodied mids. I will get shot down here, but I am going to say that I am worried about...

Unofficial Preview 2025 Hawk's Hypothetical Trade Discussion...now with added DFA spitballing!

the key to your comment is we keep those players we wont to keep. I would imagine any trade from a 15-25 player would not be a major blow to the Hawks IF we get reasonable compensation and we are still building a good list of youngsters needing to be blooded. A bit like losing Worps, CJ and...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Will McCabe!

I remember a similarly long and difficult goal from Will Day. Might not have been his debut game but was debut season and Hawks were really struggling at the time. Team lifter right there. Would be great if another Will has a like rise in the AFL.

Unofficial Preview 2025 Hawk's Hypothetical Trade Discussion...now with added DFA spitballing!

you are correct, that is why is referred to our 15-25 level players. They won't get us a first round pick back from Tassie, but multiple lower picks can possibly bundled to get higher? It will be an interesting watch across the comp as to how clubs' approach this.

Autopsy Round 6, 2026: Hawks dim the lights

Fin really can't do a lot more than he is to put himself in line for a call up, however, it was a very easy win for BH last week and all our mids dined out. Probably takes a little of the gloss off his performance. I would not mind giving him another go as he was clearly not 100% in round one...

Unofficial Preview 2025 Hawk's Hypothetical Trade Discussion...now with added DFA spitballing!

correct me if I am wrong, but I believe Tassie needs to trade out some of their first-round picks, so we could move up the order. Of course, we would not know what pick we have until 2027. Too late for a Butters decision? If we maintain most of our depth into 2027, I see some of our 15 - 25...

No. Still got him high with a shoulder. Intentional or not, it is technically a free as he could have tried to tackle. It was slight and happened in a flash, but he definitely leaned in with the shoulder. Having said that, I'd be a little peeved if it was the other way around.

2026 Trade/Free agent targets for HFC

Posted this in another thread, but it probably belongs here: On King and Humphry, I am not sure GC could offer them both the money from elsewhere IF both are keen for a move back home. They may need to pick which one to go all in on. Probably King, as the trade return for BH may be more...

Unofficial Preview 2025 Hawk's Hypothetical Trade Discussion...now with added DFA spitballing!

I reckon that is about the right money, EG, $800k from Hawks and $1m from pies. (said without any intel at all) I really hope he stays a Hawk as well. It is just that I think Collingwood will offer a lot more than the Hawks both in term of money and years. It would take a risky offer from hawks...
