Peel might have gone a lot closer by now if they hadn't been a year to year proposition. It's impossible to run a club effectively if there's a possibility that the opposition can vote you out of existence.
Re: Re: Re: Introduce me to the WAFL...
Hrm, I would have South Freo being the Port Adelaide, supposedly it was a dangerous place to be back in the heyday of the league. There was even a prison behind the oval, something sorely lacking from the Alberton Oval environs.
The question I have is how much more revenue does each little patch of advertising add? It reminds me of people in the city begging for change, perhaps they might score enough 10c pieces to buy that bus ticket.
Naturally Peel have been tragic, how the hell can they hold on to players when they were only able to offer short term contracts. Peel were being given a licence to play only on a yearly basis.
Try building a business if your rivals are able to vote to shut you down at any time.
Would sound reasonable as they are 'trading as' the Joondalup Falcons. You'd think that they'd still officially be the West Perth Football Club Inc.
Whatever, they'll always be the Garlic Munchers :)
Yup, even bailed on going all together. Deferred my flight by a week. Sheet happens, life goes on.
I guess I must be mellowing. If it happened a couple of years ago I'd still be seething come Monday, but now I'm not really bothered.
Well this has been an enjoyable week, not one of my teams left. Even East Perth couldn't give me some joy.
I hope Subi win, it's better than the alternative. :)
I doubt East Perth are over the limit on the cap, they're probably the only club that can actually afford to spend that much.
Had to laugh at the 'Tony Micale being associated with the Eagles' in the Falcon's excuse book. Had to listen to a WP supporter at work go on about it prior to the...
Even if the other clubs do manage to kick out Peel, their name will be forever etched in the honour rolls.
I hope they never succeed in giving the Thunder the boot. They will be a force in 3-5 years.
West Perth have stolen a victory to set up a Derby Grand Final next week against East Perth.
West Perth 12.15 (87)
Subiaco 10.9 (69)
Bring it on! Go you Royals!!!
Love to go and see the Royals march into another Grand Final.. but a bit short of cash, saving up to see another Grand Final. ;)
I have enough to get in the gates, but gotta have a beer budget for Subi.
