What are you most worried about in regards to your team in the 2018 season?

I would say: - Our ability to cope with manic pressure. It was our undoing against Melbourne, Geelong at Goomba Stadium, Hawthorn and the Grand Final off the top of my head. We're incredibly beatable when the opponent applies swarming pressure on our ball carrier. - Forward line. We cannot...

    The most average player ever

What about Kyle Cheney? He doesn't really have any standout footballing attributes besides professionalism and attitude, but he doesn't have too many weak attributes either. He has decent but not exceptional speed, disposal and decision making. Decent size but too small to play as a key...

Team of the decade in decade finals series?

Pretty meaningless but fun exercise. Do the Crows include Ricciuto who only played in 07 and was past his best? What about our little army of turncoats? Assuming it's peak Ricciuto and the achievements of turncoats before leaving (but they can sit on the end of the bench for their disloyalty)...

Autopsy Best retiring class in history?

Here's my attempt at my previous shout of 2010. I don't particularly like the backline, and decided to omit James McDonald since he returned in 2012. Sorry if the positions are a bit off. B: Andrew McLeod, Simon Prestigiacomo, Tyson Edwards HB: Travis Johnstone, Trent Croad, Simon Goodwin C...

Autopsy Best retiring class in history?

I thought 2010 had some big names at the time, particularly from the Crows. Simon Goodwin Andrew McLeod Tyson Edwards Warren Tredrea Ben Cousins Jason Akermanis Brad Johnson Brett Kirk 2391 games, 2470 goals, 2 Brownlows, 12 Premiership Medals, 2 Norm Smiths and a whopping 31 All-Australians...

Has big footy increased your dislike/bitterness towards other clubs?

Yes. My dislike and bitterness towards Geelong has increased significantly since 2015. We had to put up with their arrogant fans invading our board, telling us how we wouldn't match/would get peanuts for Dangerfield, and then once they did get him for peanuts, that just wasn't enough for them...

Which player from your own club do you most dislike?

The next one to leave when we want to keep him. Not confident about Mitch McGovern. Please prove me wrong. I certainly don't wish ill upon any of our players, but I'm not too keen on Dean Gore. Not really the poor guy's fault. It's probably compounded by my frustration with how ripped off we...

    Dangerfield opinions

Basing the club's and entire support base's opinion of Dangerfield as a player on the opinion of one Crows supporter on Bigfooty? Come on. We all know Dean Gore is a lemon, but go back to the Bay, sunshine.

Biggest draft steal in the last 5 drafts?

What constitutes a steal? Anything after roughly pick 40? Rory Atkins with pick 81 in 2012 goes alright.

The best mature aged recruits in your clubs history. (Minimum 21 years of age)

We also pinched Josh Jenkins off Essendon, who was recruited by them at age 21 but never played a game for them. He debuted for us in 2012 at age 23 and has kicked 40, 46 and 62 goals respectively in his past three seasons. Pretty handy.

The best mature aged recruits in your clubs history. (Minimum 21 years of age)

Assuming this means mature aged players we recruited with no AFL experience (so excluding someone like Eddie Betts), we have a few players off the top of my head. Jason Porplyzia was a rookie for us in 2003 at age 18 but was then delisted without playing a game but picked up by us again in 2006...

Most unpopular players at your club

David Mackay is the least popular Crow amongst the Adelaide Bigfooty board. He has been on our list for about 10 years now and has played around 160 games, but has never really kicked on, yet continually gets games over performing youngsters in the SANFL. He has only ever had 30+ touches for us...

List your favourite to least favourite teams in order

Who have we booed that annoys you so much? Gunston? Because I heard Hawthorn supporters boo Cheney in our match this year, who left under far more amicable circumstances. Surely you don't begrudge us booing those arseclowns Dangerfield/Tippett?

List your favourite to least favourite teams in order

2-6 I like (though I wouldn't consider St. Kilda a "second team", 7-10 I am indifferent about, 11-13 I dislike and 14-18 I hate. 1. Adelaide 2. St. Kilda (inoffensive and fairly likeable team. Got rid of Neil Craig for us a few years ago) 3. Brisbane (also pretty inoffensive) 4. Carlton (our...

Fixture 2017 - What you want for your team

    - Carlton but especially Bulldogs in Adelaide for once - No trip to Moggs Creek for once - No six day Showdown breaks after a trip to Perth - I also don't care for Thursday games, but for some reason the club loves them. Other than that, happy to play anyone anywhere. We got some pretty good...

Which supporters have gone through the most pain?

I did say draft sanctions... In any case, I would happily miss a finals series in which we weren't going to win anything if it meant we got an end of first round pick like you did in 2014.
  17. R

Which supporters have gone through the most pain?

Ooh the Oppression Olympics. Crows would have to be good contenders. - Close finals losses in 06, 07, 09 and 12. Prelim losses in 02 and 05 as well. - Ongoing exodus of talented players for little to no return. - Two years of draft sanctions (Essendon received lesser draft sanctions for a...

    Brisbane Lions PP

Not to get too off-topic, but I meant at the moment we don't have any top 10 picks on our list, not that we won without top 10 picks in 97/98, which I didn't even realise. And Pick 11 is not a top 10 pick, so I don't see the relevance, especially considering we weren't gifted that pick and had...

Who Has Played One Season Too Many? 2016 Edition

How has he reinvented himself? 3-4 years ago, he was a contested ball winning machine, not particularly quick, but generally used it well. Three years later, he's still a contested ball winner who still racks up (on the surface) good numbers, but he doesn't really run defensively...

If you could choose 5 players from different clubs to come play for you, who would they be?

Just a joke. Most Crows fans still love Vince (who we had to let go of because of our stupidity getting those draft sanctions), and I'm fairly neutral towards Davis. I hate the other three. But we'd be a shoe-in for the flag with them back, as it weakens all the teams above us on the ladder :p

    Brisbane Lions PP

Adelaide is the only club without a top 10 pick on our list, and we leak interstate players about as much as you do. We just do well at recruiting recycled players and using our late/rookie picks. No reason you can't do the same. That said, I would probably give Brisbane a priority pick...

    Rd20 Rising Star

Reilly O'Brien had 16 disposals, 29 hit outs and a goal in his debut for us. There's probably more deserving players out there who have strung together multiple good matches though.
  23. R

    Studs and duds

Studs traded out: - Sam Kerridge. Wasn't getting opportunities, but was a class act of a bloke and left very amicably, so I'd say most Crows fans are happy he's doing well at Carlton. - Ivan Maric. Same as Kedge but for Richmond. - Bernie Vince. Excellent for Melbourne but we weren't getting...

Pulling a stellar performance during during a period of mediocraty

Our most recent years of mediocrity would have to be 2010, 2011, 2013 and 2014. Here are some of the unexpected wins we pulled out of the hat in those years: Round 11 2010 vs Fremantle: An otherwise horrible year. We never really recovered from the "right in front of me" final, didn't improve...

Younger players you could not possibly fathom leaving your club...

None of them. I'm a Crows supporter. However, I'd like to think: Matt Crouch: Enjoying his football here, regardless of his brother's situation. Rory Laird: South Australian and is apparently happy with the way we're going. Luke Brown: See Laird. Jake Lever: We had faith in him drafting him...

    Round 16 tips and crowds

You play extremely well against Hawthorn. I'm quite envious, we haven't beaten them since 2011.

    Losing a Grand Final

Never seen the Crows lose a Grand Final, so don't know the feeling, and I'm too young to remember 1997/1998 and the hype/parade/excitement of my team making the grand final, so those feelings are unknown to me, but I imagine they're much more fun than licking your wounds after a prelim loss...
