NO TROLLS Hawthorn Racism Review - Sensitive issues discussed. Part 3

Why would they make yesterday's statement if it can be proven to be incorrect so easily? Who's advising them here? It immediately takes down their credibility...if it is true. The leaks are coming thick and fast now.

You really think so? White middle aged blokes are regularly shouted down for having an opinion and being white middle aged blokes. If you don't believe me, just read back a few pages.

That may be true, but it won't hurt to listen. Like I said in another post, if it turns out that the expectations are beyond what clubs think is reasonable, they'll probably find that in the future clubs just won't take a punt on remote indigenous players anymore. But they have to listen to...

Thanks for the honesty. But you don't need to be so defensive. If champion, premiership players have grudges about their treatment years after the fact, then you have to realise that there is something there. What is it going to hurt to listen?

I think it is because everybody is seeing this in a litigation framework. If the complainants are legit in just wanting to explain how the AFL could have done better to accommodate indigenous players, then why not? It might be the ego factor - people don't want to admit that they might have...

They need to shoot it out now, but realistically, I wonder if many AFL clubs will take a punt on remote indigenous "project" players anymore. I believe that the Hawks were, with best intentions, trying to make these guys understand what it takes to play footy in the big league. I also think...

It's powerful stuff. 100% the coaches need to listen. And probably the whole AFL.

If clarko was coercing a player to break up with his partner then that is a massive overstep in the employer/employee relationship. I think he could definitely go for that. "Best interests" or not. You just can't go there.

That's what I thought. They are setting up for the next step. Defamation. The mental pain and suffering that they are experiencing from the "false" allegations are being actively communicated in the media

News Clarkson to step away from football indefinitely

Good comments and I am worried about your points 3/4. If the parties do not play along with the AFLs appeasement strategy, then certain individuals will be destroyed.

Opinion What unpopular AFL opinions do you have? - Part 2

Look to Gaelic football to reduce issues around player head injuries. They have restricted most contact, particularly in regards to tackling and touching players without the ball. Gaelic footy is still a fast flowing, highly skilled sport, much like our game.

From the above, I love Hodge's comments. He came to Clarkson's defense, but he clearly still thinks he's an arse. I think most people wanted him at North because he is an arse. He's not there to make friends. He's there to get results.

I'm not calling anyone liars in this case. But people can have a different perception according to a situation. I think that is what this will come down to. I really don't think that Clarkson would have asked any player to abort their baby. I can't imagine any scenario where this might be...

I don't think this culturally safe review will be done in a month. The first step is to see if clarko/Fagan are fit to coach . The next part will be about implementing strategies across the AFL to understand and respect cultural diversity. That'll take years and will be subject to ongoing...

Dadirri! Yolngu posted a clip before, but have a look at the full text https://www.miriamrosefoundation.org.au/dadirri/ Most "fixes" seem to be about forcing compliance to white Australian values/laws, but I reckon Australia at all levels needs to revisit it's relationship with First Nations...
