I'm not sure understanding the basics of polite communication even entails being 'intelligent'. Surely we can expect AFL players to uphold some level of geniality and not excuse them because they played sport as a career for a very small portion of their adult life?
Only implications I could see on F/S rule is if the target club he wants to go to has some high-tier F/S player they need the pick that the home-bound player would require to be traded, or if he was the older brother of a potential F/S draftee? Seems a bit loose.
I tend to agree, the real negative comes off the back of repeat problems and letting the team down in regards to the club. We have an obsession with club imposed suspensions though.
I'm expecting he'll miss the JLT and get given a 2 week suspension, particularly considering similar indiscretions from other players have gone unpunished. 4-6 is very severe, and I don't think it'll impact his off-field behaviour much as clearly the suspension last year didn't, so nobody wins.
I haven't seen him speak enough in these events to judge, but that obviously suggests you're right, but even with his media commitments there's no way Danger would be on anything close to what Tom Lynch would earn at GCS. Obviously depending on how proficient both are with business investments...
I guess the point of difference is that he's the captain, and therefore should be doing his best to avoid that media landscape. With that said I'd be staggered if he leaves, I could see him approaching $2M a year at the Gold Coast with the AFL helping out a bit...
Actually if they drop below 100% of TPP they can use the difference (up to 5% as 95% is lowest payable) in addition to next years payment (ie. if they pay 95% this year they can pay 105% next year) so theoretically he's right... Idk what they'd do post 2018 but I guess 1 year is plenty of time...
Collingwood, Richmond, Carlton, Hawthorn, and Essendon are probably best list fits in Melbourne. Can't see us having the currency though so would leave the other 4 open.
AFAIK picks in X round occur directly after your allocated pick, and 'end of round' which only applies to the first round occurs after picks have been allocated to all other clubs for that round. So it would be pick 19.
Doubt you'd have the cap space for him, even if Carlton weren't chasing him, but with them in the race you have zero chance as they'll trump any offer of yours by $100+k per year without blinking.
Is he an FA this year? Wouldn't be surprised to see him linked to Hawthorn next as well, as per...
Surely a lot of those would have involved some level of conspiracy to commit aggravated assault (or whatever the exact wording would be) or some such? He may not have mentioned it but I'd assume those were the grounds a lot saw gaol time for.
???
Obviously my post was only applicable /if/ it were Keays and Hipwood and /if/ they were found guilty. Do you disagree that in the situation that both of those variables are true that it won't effect the Brisbane Lions even though it's not your fault? Literally the only point I was...
I like how you chose Collingwood :L
It has nothing to do with you, no, and you shouldnt be held accountable but if they're the two highly rated academy boys you purposely traded in shit picks for points for this year it WILL effect you immensely.
Yep that's where the issues lies IMO. The players shouldn't be named publicly, and no players in the past under similar investigations should have been publicly named as well.
I recall a year or two ago when there was a bit of speculation about him the media were trying to pump him up as a great pick-up... Then again I'm pretty sure that was only on SEN so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised.
I agree. But why are they the ones so sour about trading? Both clubs should be happy with last years outcome and no reason they can't both be happy with the outcome of this trade.
