Don’t mind this, but would battle/keane be one too many with Moore/Framps the keys pillars? Warming to the idea of Smith, a gamble as sometimes players don’t recover their pace after a reco, but could be a gamble worth taking.
Kreuger, WHE and McInnes are definite ins (assumption is that Reef and Will are available, as seems likely)
Outs: Bytel, AJ, Dean (Dean unlucky, but Melbourne does not have super height up forward and with Frampton returning to the back line we will have enough talls (Frampton, Moore, Howe) to...
...as his brother he’ll work even harder to make sure he succeeds. It’s great thing in the VFL with that 23rd player rule. I remember DarcyMoore playing for us in a couple of games in that role.
Can you imagine if LQ became a pressure forward with Beau going into the midfield it’s going to be...
I’m getting more and more on the Smith bandwagon. Even though once again it will mean using our future first, which I’ve been dead against, after the last few debacles.
However we really need to regenerate this midfield around Nick.
Nick, JDG, Smith and then hopefully LDU at the end of next...
Go get Battle, Keane & Smith, please Wrighty.
Then we can revisit the fantasy I’ll never relinquish of DarcyMoore going forward (unless we are actually into King)
it was poor coaching & selection IMO
Dean against Darcy was an extremely poor match-up ..under-sized, under-strength. Frampton could/should have played KPD against Darcy and simply followed him into the ruck
The back 6 has been settled and playing way more securely post round-2, since Frampton...
Well this is an interesting post.
I noticed your join date on here... September of 2004. This is gonna be relevant on what I will tell you.
Now... 1st off who was the Coach at the dockers when you joined on Bigfooty in September of 2004? It was chris Conolly
Now lets briefly talk about Chris...
Fair enough but Moore had 13 spoils, 8 intercept possies, 3 contested marks and 14 touches. TBH I cannot remember him getting many kicked on and I am a Moore detractor. I reckon our defence stood up well enough with the many inside 50s they got. So hard to keep defending them against giants.
Stop with the Frampton down back. We have no rucks. Cameron and Frampton. That's it. You want Cameron to go with English and Lobb all game?
We were forced to have Frampton ruck and rest forward. There was no other option. Would it be good to have Frampton on Darcy? Yes but Dean, Moore and Howe...
Seriously can't knock our coaches with players we had to work with and match up on. Howe needed to play tall down back. Dean, Moore and Howe had their hands full with their talls.
Seriously Ugle Hagan, Darcy, Naughton, and Croft! Can we please have just one!
No, not lobb - he failed tonights...
The good
No new injuries!!!
Harrison developing very nicely. Pressured the whole game. He’s not losing his spot no matter who is coming back.
Yet another incredible game by Nick.
Herculean effort by Moore. And Maynard.
We did very well in the first and third quarters despite the outs.
New...
That’s way too harsh an assessment of Darcy but one thing for sure, I think we all underestimated how big an impact the loss of Murphy has had on him.
Darcy used to be able to zone off, intercept and rebound, safe in the knowledge that Murph would mop up any mess. But with Murph gone, Darcy...
When you don't nail simple set shots (5 from within 40m out or less) you leave the door open and the dogs came back. That should have been a 9.3 or 10.2 first quarter.
Had to nail those two set shots from 25-30m and missed them both.
Killed us tonight. he had a mare. I agree his turn overs...
I tell you what, DarcyMoore doesn’t cop enough heat.
He’s looked a shell of himself for a long time now. Does the occasional intercept mark but often caught out of position, running around not impacting the contest.
I’m not buying the whole Bulldogs deserved that schtick.
We beat them fair and square in Q1 and could have iced the game there and then if it wasn’t for poor kicking and poor effort.
Ash Johnson does not compete and only expects to take uncontested marks. No shots on goal. That’s a D- and he...
