Don't be so sure. The general consensus is that among WCE fans is that Waterman will remain at FF and Allen will play CHF/push up the ground when needed, with Darling probably relegated to the WAFL.
That being said, with our match committee, anything is possible.
On Jack Hutchinson too - didn’t mind what I saw from him being at the game. But looks unlikely also to hold his spot with the return of OscarAllen likely this week
Another article for everyone:

Kelly is in doubt for them as well. Which is the biggie for their midfield.
But they’re likely to have OscarAllen available so their forward line will be pretty potent.
...needs to be the top of his game to stave off the younger brigade.
Even forward Jack Darling is under pressure with the looming return of OscarAllen, who will lead a promising forward line that features Waterman, Ryan Maric, Jack Hutchinson and Bailey and Jack Williams.
Reuben Ginbey of the...
They're approaching us though so they'll have to pay perceived overs.
Neither player you've mentioned has proved they can cut it at the top level yet either.
For sure, we need players with their skillset though.
Maybe something like;
Pies - Ed Allen + 26 + F2
WCE - BW + 59 + F3
From North...

Plenty more examples of him lacing out players - that one to waterman was nothing compared to some of his bullets this year. Incredible kick of the footy
...work with injured defender Rhett Bazzo instead of training as well, having been hampered earlier this year by a foot issue.
Co-captain OscarAllen and reigning club champion Tim Kelly did some light handball work and kicking before disappearing into the club rooms after about 15 minutes.

Yeo (another midfield pillar) couldnt string together games for years (in his prime)
OscarAllen, absolute Lego man.
Cripps out for a long time.

So there is momentum on this board to cash in on Yeo, Barrass and Allen. Wow - I go away for a moth and look what has happened!!!
The only one I can support losing is IF we got a substantial offer for Tom, then I would listen. Being under contract for another 2.5 years means we hold the whip...
Um no you dont understand how Jake uses his running power.
If Waterman didnt take his man up the ground and lose them running back he would be ignoring one of his best assets and allowing his opponent to save their energy to defend.
He is a very clever forward who uses his endurance and...
Incorrect, Jake has shown this year he can play as a stay at home forward and clunk marks close to goals.
He has always done this at wafl level but has obviously always been behind kennedy, darling, Allen so has been played up the ground
Given the opportunity this season he's shown what he can...
Ed Allan 100%….happy to send him home.
I’m probably out on my own here…but I’d be happy including him in a deal ( also include picks from us as well).
All irrelevant at this stage. But interesting musings…
Trade Allen & Barrass equals destination club:think:
But everyone wants to keep Harley
I'm missing something here.
Oscar isn't being traded, a given. TB slightly less likely.
Enjoy the banter, though.
Maric HB/wing I'm in though. Need good delivery into F50 rather than bombing on player's heads.
I agree. They are completely different forwards with different strengths.
Waterman's endurance means that he can run further up field and be a chop out down the line (which we're currently using Darling/B Williams as) and Allen can be stationed as the deep i50 option.
Given their ages that's a...
Trading good players is the classic solution for the mouthbreathers that don't think there is any other feasible way to improve that doesn't involve trading out anyone with value or sacking the coach as they are the two most obvious changes a club can make.
Example:
We beat Freo and Melbourne...
Id do it easily, the Dees might just be tempted enough with a final premiership tilt to overpay like that
Its not one or the other, they both need to fit with eachother. Allen is a better player, but Waterman is the form player on our list
