It's quite subtly done, all they've done is smoothed over the jagged edges and shortened the spencer gulf like most logos & graphics that contain the state do anyway here in SA
RE: Crows clash
Posted on the Adelaide board the outline of the top claw is deliberately designed to replicate the SA coastline, that was most likely the reason they made it lighter blue so it would be easier to see with that lame 3D effect they've got going on, bar that SA coast bit its pretty...
It was actually an early prototype design by Adidas for the Away guernsey when they took over in 2006 but was either ruled out by the club/AFL for having too much Navy and clashing more or they just liked this other design that contained more hoops with the customary sidebars in red being added...
Posted on the Adelaide board that it could be something to do with the current AFL number printing template and also the same reason it was changed to white outlining in 1996 so the numbers were easier to be seen.
I think he's talking about mero's edited replication design of the guernsey in which the collar is of the more old school style V rather then the more rounder split collar V that the actual guernsey has.
Don't think he was criticising the actual guernsey collar.
Well a small shoddy preview of what will be worn against Hawthorn was shown the the afc website yesterday
http://www.afc.com.au/news/newsarticle/tabid/4417/newsid/109462/default.aspx
like the old sponsor logo touch other then that pretty basic; original team line-up that played in round 1...
yeah either that or it was due to being just a mock-up of what the guernsey would look like, made for the official Launch of the club, 20 years and 1 day ago, today.
Adelaide will wear a replica of their 1991 Guernsey against Hawthorn in Round 1, 2011 to celebrate twenty years.
Not much change in twenty years i suppose just subtle variations on hoop sizes and side paneling in later years.

2010:
thanks to Mero for the above pics of course
I could of almost sweared that i read somewhere that Puma were pulling out of their AFL team sponsorships (being a reason why Sydney went to ISC last year  and Brisbane to KooGa this year) might be after the 2011 season if the Hawks '11 guernsey's made by them then. Also Reebok rumours...
Well there's a bit of talk on the Crows and Port boards about that Reebok might of pulled out of the AFL manufacturing business, which would effect Port, the Crows and the GC. Also haven't Puma already confirmed (last year???) that they won't be making guernsey's from 2011 onwards so expect...
Re: AFL Guernseys on eBay
well like stated by the seller it's a pre-production design and Puma were obviously experimenting with shadow badging when production started in 1999, before the AFL logo changed. Coincidently they have applied a similar element to modern Hawthorn guernsey's.
Done some research today and I believe official manufacturers didn't start releasing official club guernsey's or merchandise for sale until then, before then Sekem (and Puma in the mid 90s), the ones that had deals with the AFL were the only ones that could release replica guernsey's and...
Me too i liked it so much i remember trying to get one off of ebay a couple of years ago it was from '95/'96 i think '96 because it had the AFL centenury logo went up to $55 bucks + postage but pulled out after then it ended up going for over $150, not paying that for a guernsey from the mid 90s.
Ok now i'm back peddling :p don't know now why the guernsey on ebay has the coca-cola logo and not the CUB on it then, unless it was a mistake by sekem in '94.
You might expect me to back peddle but I'm not :p, that guernsey could be from 1992 or 1993 when Alcohol sponsor logos were still allowed on the 'supporter guernsey's' so sekem were allowed to produce it to replicate what the bears were wearing at the time. I think Alcohol and Cigarette...
Like OldLion said even back then Alcohol sponsor logos were not allowed on 'supporter Guernsey’s' I say supporter Guernsey’s because that's what it is, it's the Official AFL produced Brisbane Bears Guernsey and like it says made by Sekem, the equivalent of what you'd find in K-Mart stores today...
Re: Woodville-West Torrens new guernsey.
hate it looks bloody awful, already hated their logo (cheap rip off of the WCE old one). For some reason as well majority yellow guernsey's never turn out well or look good. Plus with the sponsorship placement makes the guernsey even more ordinary.
