Sounds good! 3 Ravens do a handy IPA with their Juicy series. Plus a good IPA from Stomping Ground.

ESB from HH is delicious, highly recommend if you like their beer.

I've had some great beers there - they had a Founders Nitro Pale Ale and some sort of aged Arrogant Bastard on tap the last time I was there.

$2k credit card, so no! My mate is keener for Switz then I am - just more want to take in the sights and have a good time, not necessarily looking for head banging 24/7 and stuff like that.

Heading to Europe in 2 weeks - was wondering if you guys had any good tips for the south of France and Switzerland? Two places my mate is incredibly keen to go to but I'm not finding much in the way of accommodation representing even reasonable value.

Revisited Founders' Backwards Bastard ... amazing beer.

I'm liking the clearer IPA's at the moment, more tired of the darker ones which are a bit same old, same old.

Managed to get my hands on Sierra Nevada's Barrel Aged Narwhal - am excited to try it out. Only problem is it's a 750ml bottle so need someone to share with!

There's a lot of good beer available in cans at the moment, just got to find the stores that stock them! Personally I'd rather VB than Fat Yak, but each to their own! You can find some Founders All Day IPA - a session IPA at around 5% - in cans... awesome.

Fair enough mate. I wouldn't have the Delmont, Hawthorn, LC or FIGJAM close to Hop Hog but everyone's taste is different! I really need to get my hands on some Mornington IPA, heard great things.

Although Kaiju! beer is an Aussie brew that's close to the NZ standard.

It's good for an Aussie IPA - but I think the US and NZ IPA's smash it.

Don't forget 8 Wired, they've got some brilliant stuff - not quite as good as Epic and Tuatara are at the IPA's but their other batches are great.

PA and Creatures are nowhere near it I reckon, but Hop Hog is a great beer - I haven't had too many more in Aus I'd rate higher. What were you thinking of as better? So I can try find some :P

I wouldn't go as far to say VB or Crown is awful - I've tried and loved a heap of different craft beers but I can still have a couple of those or Cartlon's if they're on offer, certainly not going to turn my nose up! The issue is the majority of guys who rate these beers a bona-fide 'beer...

I really enjoy both styles. Tripels, Quads, Wheat, etc - some great tasting and well made beers from Belgium and Germany.

That's why I'm paying $40 for this one-off - I've never had a 'fresh' Stone beer unfortunately, looking forward to this.

Any of you like Stone? If so, go to Beer Cartel and pre-order their new 'Enjoy By' IPA - have to do it by Wednesday night to get it in early Feb and as fresh as possible. As far as the discussion on Stout's goes, if you haven't tried the 8 Wired iStout then get on it - fantastically drinkable...

Could try Founders Dirty Bastard for something seriously different?
