The last two weeks have been the most depressing and demoralizing defeats I have experienced as a North Melbourne supporter, not only are we uncompetitive, but we are uncompetitive against teams in similar positions to us. It looks like we haven't improved since Noble's sacking, we look every...
So far in season 2024:
Q1: W1 L6, 18.9.117 - 31.23.209 (Pts Differential -92)
Q2: W1 L6 22.11.143 - 39.27.261 (-118)
Q3: W1 L6 16.16.112 - 31.22.208 (-96)
Q4: W1 L6, 18.14.122 - 26.28.184 (-62)
We are consistently sh!t in all four quarter, but a little less sh!t in the fourth quarter when...
Adeliade +70 for disposals, +36 for marks and +7 for tackles. How can they have more tackles while dominating possessions as they are? We have no game plan when we don't have the ball.
We are our own worst enemy, every mistake is punished and as a result our players lose confidence and crawl back into their shells which leads to tentative play and more mistakes. We are in a vicious circle that I don't think we can get out of at the moment, perhaps a huge 100+ point defeat...
I've never felt so awful and depressed after a game as I did yesterday and this morning those feelings hadn't gone away, so I'm working from home, I just don't want to talk to anybody today. Yesterday's game, and the first half in particular was (I hope) the lowest point in our club's history...
Nate should piss off before Sonja, she has done nothing but work her ass off to get the club back to the top, but this dickhead does nothing but whinge.
Logue is going to need to be better than Superman if he is the panacea our defense needs, we are an absolute rabble. Nyuon is not the answer, Corr is not of AFL standard, we need KDawson to return ASAP and we need to give WDawson a game or two to see how he competes.
It's embarrassing to say but after three clean-outs in eight years, we need a fourth because we have at least 9 players in the game today who are not of AFL standard. Simpkin, McDonald, Corr, Drury, Stephens, Fisher, Nyoun, Tucker and Sellars offer us nothing and need to be shown the door.
And...
That was a truly terrible quarter, embarrassingly terrible, we are the only team that could make Hawthorn look good. We are being beaten in every facet of the game, they are even out tackling us and they have had the majority of the ball.
I was willing to give Clarko some rope after the first five rounds because of the quality of opposition, but we are playing Hawthorn who are every bit as poor as us and we have produced this absolute s**t. It starts with the coach and maybe he is past it.
Really nervous about this game, previously this season I was hoping we could get a win or at least put in a good performance, but this week we are playing against a team in a similar position to us and so I have a greater expectation on the result.
Yeah, I was going to make mention of that myself, but I thought I'd be laughed off the forum because he has only played two games down back (and not many more up forward), so it's nice to see someone else thinks the same thing. :)
Great interview. I really hope this kid's injury issues are behind him and he gets a decent run at AFL football, he looks to be a tremendous talent and could be a major player either back or forward in future years.
