I was only referring to players who played round 1 with Coburg. Obviously those that didn’t will continue to play for there feeder clubs and push there claims. Nothing to do with my EDFL clubs. Your a stand-alone club so support the community clubs not shaft them. Anyway you enjoy your days...
Yeah maybe my wording wasn’t right but you get my point. Released 3 players and didn’t allow 19 others to go back and help there community clubs, play with some mates, and maybe make a few $$. That’s crap I’m my book.
Eth-dog only 1 nuffie here and it’s you. Maybe spend more time doing your research.
Out of the 22 Coburg players that played round 1 only 3 are on this list to play local footy
McKenzie
Nolan
Corigliano
I heard on the weekend that Coburg didn’t release any players back there local clubs during a bye weekend. Very ordinary Coburg! Dont local clubs pay for players registration and insurance yet Coburg won’t release players. Poor form Coburg!
I agree Port at Port is a tough game especially in finals but let's remember:
-Ground in super condition
-3 entrances into the ground. *most grounds only have 1 and can't accommodate bigger crowds.
-Most importantly the ground is central and easy to get to for supporters.
-Decent grandstand in a...
Just noticed Essendon playing Port Melb at Frankston this week.. what a joke!! Why isn't it at Windy Hill or Essendon Fields??
"Please explain"
Will be a huge crowd of 30-40 people attending..
Not many VFL players at standalone clubs getting paid 1000 mate.. Maybe a Nahas as his assistant coach and came straight off a afl list. Lisle maybe? Think Pinwill, Cain, Dwyer, Valenti, Sandilands all close mates and all stay on due to their close relationship with Ayres and Port Melb.. I'm not...
Port ground wasn't to bad on Saturday. Definitely wasn't a bog heap mate. Willy do play the Port ground well.
Why is the Willy game on Sumday considering they played on Saturday. Bit strange unless they wanted to have Casey play on the same day as there reserves GF which I assume is also on...
Hahaha. Have you ever been to Williamstown HarryO. No dole bludgers there but they do like there views of the bay from there balcony..
BTW, did you see the those 15 or so people in demon red colours watching from outside the fence on the car park side. Also I noticed the hole in the fence...
Hey mate, I kind of agree with what your saying here, but Willy get pretty good crowds to there games. I suppose you could add that winning also draws crowds.
I do agree that Werribee have a bigger area and there crowds are not that big unless they play Willy.
Good post Scribe. Yes maybe align the TAC cup sides to VFL standalone teams. Example: Western Jets/Williamstown however where does this leave a side like Werribee. However is Werribee only hanging in there as they are aligned to Nth Melb. This is just 1 example..
I did mention this some time ago but the competition is set for some massize changes. Will be a 2 tier competition with all the AFL standalone clubs and maybe 1 or 2 of the stronger original VFA clubs to play in the top tier. It's going to happen just a matter of when..
It's usually through a contact, ringing the club or some clubs like Willy have a screening/testing day where you register your interest and they will invite you if your resume is sound.
Hope this helps..,
I also enjoyed the atmosphere at Port Melb but volunteers or not, the food & drink service was bloody ordinary. Arrange some contract caterers to bring some food vans or ask a local footy club to run some bbq's around the ground.
And they need to have some extra toilets and better signage to...
Yeah I enjoyed it as Willy won in a cracking high skilled, fast paced game. But yes they need to encourage families to come along. Often clubs cry about funds but if Port ran a few bbq's around the ground they would have made a fortune. They could have even asked Port Colts footy club if they...
Huge crowd there today. It's a great ground with atmosphere BUT please provide more outlets for beer & food. The canteen sold out of food prior to 3/4 time and even the fridge had limited options. Surely they can get some food van operators. This was a bloody disgrace and the VFL need to step...
Interesting one and could be true. To be honest the standard has dropped off and the number of clubs is low causing fixturing issues. Besides for Willy & Box Hill the other side's are very sub standard and some players wouldn't be playing seniors in div1 local footy.
Could the AFL be thinking...
How is Port Melb travelling?? Is Toby Pinwell and Pleming going around again?
What would Toby be worth in local footy, as he would be the best recruit in local as tough and fearless. Ok and a bit mad over the white line. Guessing $2000 a game plus sign on.,
Hearing Port tried hard to get Brock...
