Would have been interesting to see how many Grand Slams Williams would have won with if Justine Henin hadn't retired at only 26, she was the only player I can remember who could really trouble Williams and actually had a winning record against Williams in Grand Slams, although it was only 4-3 so...
And just a couple of months before a Federal election. Is Politics in her future?;)
Congrats Ash on a wonderful career and all the best for the future.
Collins has been good tonight, but Barty looks a class above. Her Tennis IQ and her ability to change strategies when behind is unmatched at the moment.
Well done Ash.
True. But he also began playing in those tournaments 3 years before Nadal and 5 years before Djokovic.
The stats show he has played 24 more Masters 1000 tournaments the Djokovic.
I think this year French Open could decide it.
If Nadal wins he equals Federer and probably gets over the line on a head-to-head count.
If Djokovic or Federer wins, then they will become the only player of the three to win at least two titles at all four Grand Slam tournaments, and versality on...
Have no issues with Nick and his attitude/antics as he is only 19. Confidence, perhaps arrogance and petulance seem to be the norm at that age. If he doesn't grow out of it in the next few years then my opinion will change.
Nadal is boring me, so I switched to 7TWO and Martina Hingis is playing in a double match. Was never a huge fan of hers (preferred Huber) but she is still a remarkable, highly intelligent player, even in her mid 30's, and I think would be more than competitive in singles.
I'd like to see more 5 set matches in the women's game. One the best matches I've seen (men's or women's) was a five setter between Anke Huber and Martina Hingis at the 1997 Masters of Champions in Frankfurt, which Huber won 7-5 in the fifth. After about 4 hours on court both women were out on...
I was disappointed when Kirilenko drew Sharapova in the first round as I was hoping the Oz Open would be the springboard to a better season, after a pretty awful 2009.
But I'm happy happy happy now. :D
Definately the better looking of the two on court today.
