I think I've watched the press conference of a Lions coach maybe five times since 1997 and never felt like I've missed anything. Never really understood why fans of any club think press conference comments have any relevance to coaching ability but whatever.
I think you can be involved in football and be an expert, it's just the AFL media is filled with ex-players who just make comments to create engagement so it makes it hard to identify anyone who actually knows what they are talking about. But mostly it's hot takes and click bait nonsense.
