So JMarsh is out for another 5 weeks, obviously that hammy was a lot more then the perceived tightness.....also Joyce is out for 3 with a calf....though with Joyce's injury history, that is par for the course. Good to see Eardley(if plays) named at HB in the league side, and O'Reilly and...
I think that 4pt margin flattered EF TBH. WCER deserving winners. Definitely not the result most EF and WAFL fans expected, but just goes to show any team can win in this comp when they are on song.
Not sure the deal with JMarsh, but his height and presence up front was certainly missed. Looks...
Looks like WCER are up for the fight.....good challenge for EF trailing by 2 pts heading into the final quarter....time for a few EF players to stand up. Missing J Marsh for sure....not sure what is the deal with Leggett as well.
Pretty good side named for the WCER match. Tassone is back, unlucky for Dunscombe, but no doubt the taste of some league footy will only encourage the kid to want some more.
WCER on paper look to have their strongest line up for a while. Another 1 or 2 to drop back, though the WCE game is only...
No surprises TBH.....obviously a Town Council decision, frustrating for the club, especially financially. It is what it is I guess, wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't another delay.
Couple of decent ins for WCER for Sundays game.....Flyin Ryan makes his first appearance in a while, exciting sort, can cause a lot of mischief in a short space of time. Will be on managed minutes but great for WCE and the WAFL to have a talent like Ryan back playing footy. Culley and Sheed will...
McVee is certainly one of those quiet achievers. Stephen May mentioned some where that McVee is highly regarded within the Melbourne defence and footy club. He stated McVee played like he had 300 games under his belt, when he was in his first season at Melbourne.
Great team effort for sure mate. Any win v Cl on their home turf, especially a 90 pt win is a good result. JMarsh will take the plaudits, but it really was a team effort. Great to see Cl didn't get a sniff at any stage during the game.
Hopefully EF can bring the same intensity and accuracy from...
Might need to get JMarsh in the midfield more from time to time in his brothers absence. Can see one out of Teakle or RMcGuire spending some time forward, allowing JMarsh some midfield minutes. Joyce coming back will be crucial and English too. Jansen will no doubt spend more time in the...
Geez Murphy can't take a trick, as can't Walker to. Good to see a time line on O'Reilly, but who knows what will happen to him during that expected 4 week lay off.
Looked on a WA Hall of Fame site re Melrose - played juniors in the East and South Fremantle junior zone, before the family relocated to the suburb of Palymra. Perhaps touch base with the Palymyra Footy club?
As for Johnny Bellotti, think Chapman Valley or Railways was where he played his...
Sounds like EF have some long term injuries - HMarsh 12 weeks, Eardley 4 weeks, Montubaun 6 weeks, Boekhorst not available till round 7 and O'Reilly unknown.
Joyce available this week, no doubt with English and RMcGuire in the mix. Tassone a few more reserves games under his belt. Be keen to...
Perhaps all those missing have niggles and aren't match fit mate....who knows. Obviously not the result EF wanted, but kudos to Peel. It's not like EF have lost to Peel first up before, happened last year.
Good to see English get a fair bit of the footy in the reserves, and the reserves kick...
Congrats to EF debutants Zadow and Dunscombe for the opener v Peel, plus ex Peel player Rankin, dons the Blue n White for the first time. Few players still missing from last years flag team, not sure the go with O'Reilly, hasn't been seen all preseason, as Boekhorst.
Tassone playing reserves...
I see EF website has finally announced the return of Jed Hagan.....better late than never I guess. I see Teakle missed out on a rookie spot at Collingwood, disappointing for the big fella. Was told from a mate who went to EF AGM in December, that Monaghan said if not picked up, Teakle will...
Luke Yeo also loaned out to WCER for the season mate.....Dodd indicated hopefully both youngsters will get some league footy in 2024....though previous 'loanee' in Browne got 30 odd games of league with WCER and never came back, and now has gone to the VFL.
Sounds like Hagan and Strnadica are back at Shark Park for 2024, plus a few more ins to be announced this month. Only can see Hagan on EF players list, so will wait till the club announces something concrete, before getting excited.
Good to see some of the colts boys promoted as well.....Austin...
Teakle invited to train with Collingwood over the preseason. A couple of rookie spots up for grabs, good luck to the fella, though if he thought getting a look in at Port was tough, don't think Collingwood would be any easier.
Sanchez, unfortunately experiences the same fate as Hagan did last year...too small and not fast enough. Hagan was given an olive branch by Port, to play for their SANFL side...in the hope of a possible midseason drafting. Be interesting to see if other AFL reserves sides try and tempt Sanchez...
So it's a 10k fine, 5 player points and 4 premiership points. Not sure what SF did...or what their fans said they didn't do, but EF indiscretions must of been a tad less...who knows.
Dixon going, means EF recoup a few player points, regain a couple of those local delisted AFL boys and the 5...
Jupp takes out the Lynn Medal, with Baskerville and Turner rounding out the top 3. Congrats to the skipper on the win, great to see a Full Back recognized for their efforts.
First notable out over the off season - Hugh Dixon now off EF playing list - apparently playing for the Southport Sharks in the expanded VFL comp....still lingers another crack at the AFL I guess.
Obviously a loss, but good luck to the fella on his next adventure....bit of a nomad....job done...
