I'd love to know how people outside of India feel about this. Two months of home run derbies isn't cricket as far as I'm concerned. I still enjoy watching people like Yuzi Chahal, Ravi Ashwin and Kuldeep Yadav bowl but I'm struggling to enjoy this year's IPL
It's a combination of the impact sub, small boundaries, flat pitches, fast outfields and big bats. Can't do much about the size of the grounds but there are other ways to fix the imbalance between bat and ball. Slower outfield, more bowler friendly pitches and smaller bats would be a start but...
Great performance by Mr Muscles for LSG against CSK. It'd be very farken funny if CSK miss the finals in a season where the ICC, sorry BCCI decided that this season's final will be in Chennai for what might be Dhoni's last season.
IPL 2024, the season where a key part of cricket, the contest between bat and ball has been done away with in favour of seeing how many sixes can be hit on small grounds and flat pitches by batsmen using tree trunks as bats. Riveting stuff.
What a joke of a game between RCB & SRH. The contest between bat and ball was non-existent. You can't make grounds smaller, but you impose limits on bat sizes and start producing bowler friendly pitches.
Veteran NRL journalist and Peter V'landys sycophant Phil Rothfield writes a gossip column in Queensland and NSW News Corp papers that goes online at about 6pm on a Saturday and it's the following morning's paper. In this column, ''Buzz'' reveals his 'saint' of the week, his sinner of the week as...
I started watching this channel again on YouTube and you wouldn't believe it - there was a rain delay at the SCG in the 1995 test between Australia and England.
Hot on the heels of the now retired Dean Elgar bemoaning the lack of Test Cricket being played by South Africa, Kagiso Rabada has expressed his disappointment at the situation that saw him and many of his compatriots miss out on South Africa's tour of New Zealand in February...
So let's hypothetically say the Melbourne Stars, Lucknow Super Giants and Durban Super Giants qualify the CLT20, who does Marcus Stoinis play for and how do they determine this?
Marais Erasmus did an interview with the UK Telegraph recently. When he entered the dining room on day 5 at Lord's, Erasmus described Bairstow as 'frosty', which resulted in the veteran umpire leaving the room. Erasmus also said you could imagine how frosty things were when Bairstow asked the...
The SRH vs MI game anything but entertaining. Hopefully the pitches will offer a better contest between bat and ball as the tournament goes on. That T10 rubbish is where bowling machines should replace bowlers, T20 could follow suit in the not too distant future unless pitches become more bowler...
No great surprise to see quotes from George Bailey basically confirming Steve Smith as opening bat for the India tests: https://www.smh.com.au/sport/cricket/steve-smith-all-but-guaranteed-to-open-in-india-tests-20240328-p5ffzf.html
I'd get rid of the time-outs, scale back on drs a touch and demand that bowling sides start their 20th over inside 85 minutes. My ideas will never see the light of day. T20 Blast matches finish in 3hrs and it's more enjoyable to watch as a result.
Ahead of Jonny Bairstow's 100th test, Joe Root paid tribute to the red headed Yorkshireman. Root finished his little speech by reminding Bairstow to stay in his crease. Not sure Jonny found it funny but St Brendan found it hilarious which is ironic given his almighty sook about Bairstow's famous...
