Hopefully Head and Cummins are peaking too soon before the T20 WC. Can't see how Green can be in the squad, just isn't a T20 player.....as his IPL side is finding out
Pretty sure many folk winced at Smith's technique when he first came on the test scene.....apparently quite a few folk are wincing now with his technique. Davies is one of a few batsmen on the Sheffield Shield scene, outside the test top 6, who has a FC average above 40, time will tell if the...
That has always been Head though....did it continuously for SA where he made so many 30's then got out to stupidity or complacency. When it comes off folk talk about it for months...regardless of what he does in between....only looks worse now because others aren't stepping up to paper over the...
You got to commend Smith and Labuschagne for allowing NZ to keep a smidgen of their dignity in front of their own fans....in what was a bad day at the office for the Black Caps.....a very bad day.
Hagley had newly fitted lights in the last 18 - 24 months, have been to a couple T20 games finishing around 10pm at Hagley....plus they play their annual night match between ex Black Caps v ex All Blacks T20 for charity......
The Black Caps always seem to find a way to conjure up a hard luck story.....umpires, injuries, count backs, underarm.....the list just goes on and on....it's gone past being unfortunate though.....just the Black Cap way me thinks.
I think most Aussie fans want a competive 2 match test series...
Be interesting to see if young Bashir can back up his 1st innings effort. May need fatigued some what, as Eng don't like putting their feet up in their shed for long periods. The bowlers must hate their batsmen at times.
Looking forward to seeing young Jaiswal bat this summer down under.....he...
Bit harsh saying the Joseph boys and Roach are no better then Piedt, Moreki and Paterson.....pretty sure those WI boys are 350 + test wickets better.....The Kiwi logic never cease's to amaze.....
It was tongue in cheek, just highlighting that a player of Root's class, doesn't need to invest into all the hype of bazball.....the fella scored over 10000+ test runs without it. Well done Joe.....keep doing what you are doing
I was actually believing you mate, until you mentioned Jimmy......any win v NZ is a good win....more so just to see the looks on those Kiwi fans faces......priceless.
Up to the Kiwi's to chase it down.....that's been their problem in the past v Aust.....they are definitely good enough.....but the Aussies always seem to find away....especially v NZ.
I guess 81 is a smidgen better then 31..so you can't really call Bradman a loser...oh hang on.... am I the loser?.......yeah I probably am, if folk got a gist of my career batting average.
I never said McCullum was a slogger, just merely guessing as to why others may think he was.....live...
I guess if you take those 6 big innings from Baz's 176 inings test record....his ave drops from 38 to 31....so I can see why folk have their doubts on McCullum's batting prowess, as any more then being just a slogger...but hey the guy was great to watch in full slogging flow.
The Kiwi's will be spewing losing that ro Aust at the death. It may fire them up or it may make them roll over for the remaining T20 matches.
True Boult may of been a better option last night then Southee, but besides Ferguson, all the Kiwi bowlers got some tap.....I reckon Short could of been...
Can see Gill, Jaiswal and Safraz causing some problems down under 8n the summer....no doubt Pant will be back by then.....Starc and Hoff might retire after the NZ series to protect their test stats.....Jimmy got a pasting from Jaiswal.
I guess Baz and Ben will be content with Eng intent.....thus they probably believe Eng are boss9ng this test, despite being behind and now after Jaisal's innings, further behind....
NZ after their "historic" series victory over SA....surely means they go into the Aust v NZ series very very warm favourites....TBH SA were only missing Rabada, Nortje, Jansen and Coetzee from their bowling attack.....
Injury will only result in change to Aust starting XI for both these NZ tests.....however a NZ series win, might result in a fair few of Aust test boys, actually playing shield in the lead up to the India series this summer.....which in all honesty needs to happen for change to occur.
If Aust...
Great to make the final....big task ahead of the Aust boys though.....going to need a big effort by the batsmen though, especially from the top 3 if Aust are going to be able to either build a decent total for India to chase or chase whatever total India builds.
Who bats on for a score of 600 to chase, against a side that is obviously understrength with your A bowling attack raring to go?
Good to see Sugar fill his boots with another ton.....though dumbstruck Latham hasn't filled his boots against a mediocre attack, like he usually does......but hey...
