First game I have been able to watch in a while since I was travelling the last few weeks.
Pretty good first half. Gotta keep the pressure on though, if Hawthorn was making more of their attempts it would be a fair amount closer.
I take it we have had bad history in Cairns? I saw that there were going to be some games in NT as well. Are there always AFL games in smaller cities that don't have their own team? If so what cities typically get them?
Didn't get to see much of the west final today because of work, but it was a close game and by the sounds of it pretty good. Saw most of the east final and it was pretty crazy and fun.
CFL division finals tomorrow. For only the third time in history and the first since 1979 both division finals feature Labour Day Rivalries (every Labour Day weekend the same teams play in the same city and all the matchups are between teams main rivals). Hamilton Tiger-Cats at Toronto Argonauts...
Hamilton and Saskatchewan win the division semi finals. Both division finals will feature Labour Day Classic rivalries for only the third time in history. I'll post some highlights when they get out on YouTube if anyone wants to check them out. The Calgary Saskatchewan game was particularly...
Former NFLers? I'm not to sure who or how many to be honest. I rarely get a chance to watch North American sports anymore due to my work schedule (put in to get Grey Cup off, fingers crossed) and I never followed NFL too closely. I tried to find a list online, but there are a lot more lists of...
Division Semi Finals in the CFL today. Hamilton Tiger-Cats vs Montreal Alouettes to see who plays Toronto. And Saskatchewan Roughriders vs Calgary Stampeders to see who plays Winnipeg.
What rules are there around guys on the rookie roster playing games? Also, do most players in the league go through club academies? Or are there other avenues for youth to play and develop?
I'm still less about AFL so I just want to ask a question to clear something up.
The national draft is for players who have just reached the age where they can join the AFL right? It is equivalent to a draft in North American sports? If that is accurate than what is the rookie draft?
I think having so many of the teams in the league from Melbourne/Victoria really puts a damper on rivalries as it kinda kills any hope of a geographic rival for those teams.
Last year we loosened restrictions (that were never as tight as what you guys saw) in the summer and by December we were getting well over 1000 cases a day before they tightened restrictions. Then they loosened them again and in May we peaked at over 2000 a day. This is in a province that is a...
Saw those posts about the outbreak in NSW, looked up the case numbers, got jealous.
We are basically fully back to normal since the start of the month in Alberta. We do have a lot more people vaccinated or partially vaccinated, but I'm still worried things could go wrong quickly. The Calgary...
Nah, I've been following the whole time, but have been busy and wasn't able to watch a game until last week when I got the day mixed up and missed it. Was able to watch last night though so that was good.
