I think that hurts more than anything... they had chances, we had chances... but the general perception that we are the underdogs and showed up the way we did just pulls at me.
Am I more confident next week? I'm not quite sure about that. We played our Grand Final today for sure... it is a...
That mark, at that time, at that moment... was the greatest Saints moment of my life. I was on the 4th level, jumped out of my seat and almost jumped over the barrier. So much heartache that it wasn't our premiership defining moment - can only hope it can be replicated next week.
Cant recall goal for goal but it would seem your St Kilda goggles were in full swing.
I do however remember times where Gwilt got caught up field leaving Fev by himself, hence leaving anther St Kilda player 2 on 1.... I do remember when St Kilda had a 2 on 1 vs Fev (which included Gwilt) and...
Yeah I cant put my finger on where he belongs. He is a creative player, not a particularly hard body... so traditionally you'd say a wing... but they are more the guys that will work up and back, he is more a roamer as you suggest.
I guess his creativity and ability to find space would...
He doesnt chase and or try to cover options, I notice this every week on TV.
When there is a turnover or the other team has the ball he will just stand and jog to a spot. Its disappointing...
I understand his role is to create and be our offensive weapon and distributor but its a liability...
sounds good but its not realistic... do you really expect Hamill to play anymore than 5-10 games?
do you expect Milne to be around beyond this year?
there is doubt every year surroundings Gehrig's future?
and when will the real Kosi please stand up?
Leaves you with Reiwoldt
This is the weirdest thread ever. Gilbert looks very raw, he has a very lean body and I cant hit a contest hard... plus I dont think he has the agility to counter this.
Gwilt was out of his weight division and he was beat, lets not make 'excuses'. I was happy with his efforts he did...
It would be handy if we played the dogs every week then.
My issues are that when we play the top teams in the league we dont have enough speed to break them... even Sydney... considered a blue-collar team would appear to have more speed and line breaking ability than us at the moment. No...
My argument would be how often does Milne hit the target and/or... how often does he even get the ball off without it being smothered or him being caught holding the ball...
I give the guy credit he is one of the most creative and goal-wise players in the league but as its been reported in...
Yeah it was good to watch... in the dome vs Carlton. Got a bit worried there that we could get rolled by them which would have been embarressing.
back on panthers post..
the guys at the St Kilda Football club bleed the club yes... they are also extremely well paid!!! and are accountable to...
I dont much about this guy but what about this Jones guy? He was lively in his single start... thats what I dont get... why dont we run with a guy like that, give him some consecutive games... look what is doing for Collingwood... 3 games into their careers they had some rookies pull them thru...
Yeah I was about to jump in and say the same thing... however the Goddard-Wells is probably much of a much-ness... obviously we would love the run of Wells through the middle at this point... its something we have been trying to draft for the last couple of years where Goddard has struggled to...
Hmm... I'm not sure if I entirely follow you if you read your last line again. I dont see how the number of injuries is relevant... the injuries that are relevant ARE the people injured... because the number could include half our reserves team... but they dont affect the St Kilda performances...
Yes there are positives... again... I'm looking at us from a perspective of developing into an elite club... by problems I mean, needs, lack of... etc... it seems some people cant just accept this... I'm repeating the same things again... its fine that some people want to support... but I'm just...
From what I see he looks handy. I know i've been critical of a lot of the St Kilda players recently but along my travels I've noticed a lot of people have said this guy is a bust, and get rid of him.
As I say I think he looks ok... he has also only been in the league a short time in...
I dont think my opinion is that of "lets shoot them all"... or anything like that. I clearly said from the start that we have 'holes' and missing pieces in our lineup which we need before we can consider any success... we have some great players... yes we have built a fantastic defense... I love...
Thanks for your comments Gum.
I made a similar break-down of the injuries on the first post and it would seem we pretty much agree where that talent stands. HOWEVER M.Gardiner and A.Hamill belong in the category of R.Clarke... maximum... they are players who come with no guarentees... sure...
I see what your trying to say... but my comments are... WE ARENT SYDNEY... we have a younger roster... we have a first year coach... we dont have the winning formula/roster Sydney have and had those years... which is why I started the thread in the first place to discuss... seems we have gone...
Ok now you take you one year and compare them across a career... or are we only looking to isolate highlight years to make some false impression...
Fletcher is playing this year.. where is Hudgton?... oh he got injured twice...
My point isnt to evaluate Hudghton... I dont think he would...
Oh my god. The brain power in here could almost light a light-bulb.
My point being your comparing the saints who have been there abouts but not good enough for the last few years at 2-3 the preceeding year to..
the Sydney Swans who won the premiership the year before who were 2-3 the...
Thanks for the support saints. My posts may seem full on and extreme at times but I seriously think the fans need to let go of the excuses. You made a fantastic point there and I guess that is what I am on about.
We have the players and they are injured... they are always injured... they keep...
Yeah - people are talking about this as if its 'bad luck' or whatever... or as if its a good excuse... but as Ross Lyon said yesterday in a press conferences, its part of success and the Saints are responsible for many of the injuries due to the turnover in conditioning staff, etc...
So maybe...
