Just wanted to come here very quickly- (and then retreat, not here to gloat) but wanted to say how impressed I was with you guys tonight.
You were fast, you were strong, you used the ball well and hassled us really well. You came with a plan and executed really well. Which shows you have trust...
Apologies if I'm intruding, but I just thought I'd come on here to let you know how impressed I was with you guys today.
Didn't get the result you were wanting, but to come back as you did after quarter time was a real credit to you guys. You made us look very slow at times with your quick...
I was listening to a football manager a couple of years ago from Melbourne and they were talking about the Brock McLean trade. When they traded him to Carlton, he was still highly rated, and many thought Melbourne were silly for trading him away. That view was put to him. He replied to that line...
I cant help but think thats how the matchups will be- Although I would be more inclined to put Polo on Embley, as Embley has been in terrific form, and rosa's has dipped ever so slightly, so would try to put Del santo on him to try and work the contest the other way. Who is your best endurance...
Can I cast my votes? (As an outsiders opinion?)
3. Lenny Hayes: (He is knocking on Chris Judd's door as 2nd best in the league, and Judd is only a bigfooty posters opinion away from no 1 in the league so thats really saying something for the guy that had the serious injury not too long ago...
IMO he is as well. Probably fair to say that, at the start of the year, that this had to be his year, been on the list a while, and even though he showed a lot of guts & courage, his disposal has been questionable at times. 12 months on, he's worked on his disposal, and plays an important role...
I must say hes not a bad finals player, i can't say iv seen him play a bad one yet- Maybe an entry for the Best finals player in the last 25 years thread? :p:D
Have the utmost respect for this guy, he keeps working & Working & Working. Very fair & honest player too it seems, doesn't revert to...
I posted a similar thread in May of last year (before this thread so there are other neutral supporters who have noticed him, I didn't want to bump up another thread for your boards sake) and there was a question posed from some of your supporters re whether he would be in your next premiership...
I remember that. I was watching it on TV when it happened, felt really sorry for the bloke, and from then have followed his career with interest.
Seems like a really nice guy who bleeds for the club, so you guys look to have a rookie list success story, even if he is 25. :thumbsu:
As I've said in the thread I created a couple of months ago, I really like Jones, he is that sort of guy that gives his all 100% of the time, there was a period in the second quarter where he was everywhere, tackled well, and used the ball really well. Not bad for a guy in his first final, and...
No no I'm not offended hey, that was a watered down comment, I would have done it too.. :D You sort of get used to it after the same sort of jokes are said over and over again. You forget sometimes though, you could be writing anything and it refers to ben cousins now.. :p
And that is a wafl trait i reckon, all of the eagles that come from the wafl seem to do that, I think the speed from WAFL football to the AFL is very different, I can imagine that it would be a difficault task to adjust, especially as he did play in the wafl for a few years before being drafted...
None taken. Trust me West Coast at the moment are soft, I can't exactly work out why, there not tanking, no player will EVER tank, but they just seemed to not show up after quarter time.
I think it is that the older players, who should be showing the young boys how to play the game aren't...
I really hope that you do. I took a bit of notice on him on friday night, he seems to be playing a role as a roving half forward very well, he seems to be learning the game and running into the spaces. He reminds me a lot of Rowan Jones of West Coast, very maligned as a player to the supporters...
Just a quick question.
Are you guys happy with him as a player? Whenever I get the chance to watch the saints I always look out for him, being a west aussie, he seems to be a good story for you guys off the rookie list. With all that is said about his disposal, every time I see him play he...
