Tea leaves are telling me that we will be in the mid season draft. I am guessing by May 29 we will have slid to 14th on the ladder and that means pick 5. Maybe Van Es to go on long term injury and give us a chance to pick up someone decent. This year turning out to be part of the rebuild which I...
I’m all for this trade with the Roos. We get their #1 pick in the next draft and they get our next 2 first round picks. This is a midfield draft and we need a marquee midfielder. North have an abundance of mids but need key position players. Win win.
Seriously how does the club expect anyone to come to the games with a performance like that. Absolutely no forward pressure in the first five minutes when the dogs were dropping everything. Saints supporters already leaving the stadium.
Think that Heath has shown why he will be delisted. Up forward he doesn't lead or attack the ball and in ruck is easily beaten. Keeler showed a bit more in the 3rd Qtr. Saints would love to get hold of some of those Giants players.
Can't help to see the quality of players that the Giants can field in the VFL team. Have to think the Giants wont be a lock for AFL finals for a generation with this sort of depth coming through. Sandy on the other hand look patchy with only a few class players and quite a few lazy players...
Any chance Caminiti out and bring Hayes in with Hayes sharing the ruck and resting Ro in defence to help against the Giants forward talls? Hayes brings a ruck/rover element to the team. Maybe too early for Hayes?
Keeler is very lost in defence. Just doesn't position himself to make an impact and contest the mark. Peris is looking pretty good though for the Bombers.
Some good signs from the Saints players but Essendon is really looking like a rabble. They seem to have no defence. Great to see Hayes running around. Fingers crossed he runs out the game.
goodie23 did a great write up. Thanks. Here are my observations. I went around and caught up with some of the younger and new players.
#4 Lance Collard: Seems that RTB spoke to him that day and he has been told based on his training data he is AFL ready. Lance is fully expecting an early call...
Yes gringo2011 That is the way I saw it. Perfect training for Hugo to watch how some experienced players work around the ball. Windy did this for 2 years.
While talking match simulation tactics, I saw that our tall forwards were zoning up forward and avoiding pack marks with 2 or 3 forwards...
So the question is where in the current seniors team do we slot Arie Schoonermaker in? Our back 6 look so settled and that's even before Sinclair returns. You sense that Arie could be this years Pou if given the opportunity.
I believe RTB is working on this by improving the delivery into the forwards. The biggest issue were defenders intercepting forward thrusts when our midfield bombed the entry kick. Expect to see more bullets in to leading forwards chests.
