I like the idea of him playing with Messrs Henry, Dempsey and Mullin, and if the play goes a certain way getting the opportunity to yell out, "Ollie, Ollie, Ollie, oi oi Oisin, Ollie, Oison, Ollie, Oisin, Ollie, Ollie, Ollie"

I dont know about obvious, I imagine the converstaion went something like this: Dodoro (on seeing Caddy get to our pick): Hey Andrew, we really want Caddy, give you a Future 2nd round and we swap spots Mackie: Yeah Nah Dodoro: What about pick 31 this year Mackie: ahh, yeah ok Dodoro: You were...

Is it? And does that really help? Will Minson is apparently a really smart guy, but considered fairly dumb on the field. And their can't be too many Rhodes Scholars who have played at the highest level, the only one I can think of was a ruckman - Mike Fitspatrick.

Geez I'm getting on, I vaguely remember watching his old man 'debut' in a post-season exhibition match in New Zealand. The only other thing I remember about that match was that GAS did boundary umpiring duties!

I'm pretty certain we would have, I dont believe Wells believed Selwood was still going to be available come pick 7. There was an article recently where he recounted telling his wife on the morning of draft day 2006 that if she heard him call out either the names of Selwood or Boak, then he...

If all the players from the last 20 years were in a single draft and everyone knew what they would turn out like and we held pick seven, we would still have no hope of selecting Selwood. Selwood's knee troubles in 2006 were probably the biggest piece of luck we've ever had as a club.

Wellsy has spoken before about the secretive nature of recruiting and not to let anyone know what we are planning. And it's not just Wells or even footy as illustrated in this article about the guy who 'discovered' Gareth Bale

Can he kick with his right foot? In the video above all left foot kicks. In the last play it looks like he was setup for a relatively easy right foot shot at goal, but changed direction so he could go with the left, even though it was a tighter shot.

Maybe the club has drawn a line through him. I'm guessing he would have been on a two year contract, if another club picked him then they would take on that salary commitment, but he wasn't picked up. So as we were committed to including his second year salary as part of our overall TPP we may...

It would be great one day to go through the notebook of Stephen Wells. The recruiters all play their cards close to their chests and play mind games. I'm sure that there is a bit of misinformation used. For example, putting out a rumour that we are looking at Player X so that Club Y chooses that...

I don't think so - he's shown that he knows what rejection is like and how very special it is to get drafted. Ho knows that you have to make sacrifices and work bloody hard to make in in the AFL. He is not some young wide-eyed kid for whom everything has come easy and the rigours of AFL life is...

Couldn't care less if he was a total dumbass. All he needs to be is to be talented, prepared to work hard to make the most of those talents and stay out of trouble off the field.

Sounds like a super talent,. However mby the sounds of it, his talent and size have created a natural path for him to dominate effortlessly. In footy he is going to be challenged like he has never been challenged before - it's not unusual for precocious children to end up on the scrap heap in...

Ripped the hammy from the bone in a reserves match - was out for months. When he came back, he really lacked confidence in the leg. I dare say the medical staff decided that he was always going to have trouble from there on, so he was cut. It can be a cruel business.

Underpowered servers and the fact they were running on hardware as opposed to vm, meant that scaling to meet demand wasn't really an option. That should all change in a couple of weeks, but as the move will involve the site being down for a considerable time, eg 24 hours if things go smoothly...
