Anti-Franklin umpiring taken to a new level

Your free kick stats are going to look terrible when you are too arrogant to think you can't be run down from behind and you throw the fullback to the ground when the ball is sailing through for a point.

When the ball is held in by the opposition

Despite these kicks being paid as "holding the ball" there is no onus on the tackler to apply a proper tackle. You can have hands around the neck, knees in the back, or they can just lie on top of you and you are still pinged for holding the ball.

    Deliberately out of bounds

Have they changed this rule? Twice in the last minutes of the Port - Carlton game, a Port player punched the ball towards the points but it missed and went out of bounds. I thought if you were trying to concede a point and missed, it was deliberately out of bounds:confused:

No they didn't Laycock was tackled by Birss after choosing not to give a handpass off. He just dropped it. Prior opportunity?

Umpires profound influence on a game...

Walsh's goal after the ball bounced off the goal post? Or is that not an experimental rule any longer? The three points in the first quarter for a rushed behind? Bombers lose to the Saints and its the umpires fault. Is James Hird still at the club?
