I hope for Hird’s own sake that he rules it out soon.
Last time, the role directly drove him to a suicide attempt and our basket case of a club is still exactly that. For whoever takes on the senior coaching gig, it is going to be stressful, maddening, unforgiving, and if things don’t change...
That was one of the worst games I’ve seen from an Essendon player. Almost single handedly lost us the game with his blatant frees against. I used to like him but all signs suggest he’s cooked. Stick a fork in him and move him on.
Sadly, appears unlikely to go anywhere near replicating his b&f season, is likely cooked. One thing I do like about Devon though is his ability to antagonize. We would have to have the nicest players in the league overall and he brings a refreshing bit of mongrel into the team.
It’s embarrassing that this guy is in our senior side. We’ve seen enough to know that Ned is not going to make it. Delist at the end of the year and make way for others with more potential.
Unfortunately, I think Ham is just too physically weak to really make it at afl level. Disappears when things get tough. I can’t see him ever being an important player in finals which is what we need. I think we should move him on whenever his contract ends and make way for someone with more...
I’m just not seeing it with Francis. To me he seems to be a consistently unfit and mentally fragile player on the field. I’d trade him for whatever we could get for him and if there is no interest, delist.
I don't want to be negative, but what are the chances of this guy making it at AFL level?
It's starting to seem increasingly unlikely to me if he's so far off the mark almost 2 years in.
Going by all the comments on here, is it a concern that he is still not yet match fit a year and a bit in? Is he better than where he was at mid-last year when he debuted?
I really liked his game yesterday in the first half and would be happy to keep him in. Love his aggression and that he...
While I agree that the media camped at the Hird residence and the article from Patrick Smith are potentially very destructive, I disagree that people publicly voicing their support of James is, such as that done by Allan, bomber and Corcoran. It has probably been said on here already (I haven't...
I'm not endorsing online abuse; there were plenty of considered and reasoned tweets in that feed as well. I merely found it comforting to see that the public, as a whole, now push back against irresponsible and dangerous pieces such as this that can adversely affect mental health.
Regardless of what you think the players did there's a very big difference between covering things up and simply being afforded the right to silence.
The players should have at the very least been given the opportunity to refuse to participate in the interview, which they were not. I can't...
Or you could give an educated opinion about what he is capable of based on his past performances in 2009, while also taking into consideration the significant injuries and the amount of missed football between then and 2016. I don't think anyone is asking for a crystal ball reader, just an...
If Carlton end up with pick 2 via compensation as well - what about our pick 4 for pick 2 and Carlton's second rounder?
Not much difference between pick 4 and 2 but given we could ultimately lose Carlise for nothing I'd take it.
Agreed. The objective of truth of what they are saying is much more important than who it is that is saying it.
My only issue with people such as Bolt, Jones, etc. defending us (ditto for the ALP condemning us at that disgraceful press conference) is that it effectively turns the issue into a...
Thanks for posting, I had not seen that before.
She is completely out of her intellectual depth in that video and the fact that she had to play the sex card at the end was just embarrassing.
It is infuriating that the opinion of a "social commentator", who has no credentials and clearly no...
I wonder why the media seem to be going with the headlines that contain the words "Essendon doping..." now, instead of Essendon drug scandal. Are they becoming more and more desperate for clicks as this thing seems to drawing to an end?
Ok thanks. To my mind that was like getting 17 + 21 for Ryder/player, which is terrible deal. Ryder himself is worth at least a top 10 pick and a player or later pick IMO.
I guess there is no surprise. We always seem to fall over at the trade table.
