Anyone notice that the 2 most controversial "passes" to clear cut suspensions involve 2 very powerful clubs in the vfl coterie?
Cripps Carlton
Maynard Collingwood
You could start a train of thought here that there might be some money and power at play.......
I'm not melting about anything mate.
I said it is unprecedented that a player would be given a puff piece interview after a game to show how remorseful they were for knocking out their opponent.
You then said "Literally happens all the time..."
I've asked you to provide evidence of "Literally...
Touching the ump isn't really the same as knocking a player out and getting a chance to plead your case later. You haven't been able to prove a shred of evidence for something that you stated "happens all the time". If it happens all the time - should be very easy for you to show some evidence.
Ok, so my question as to whether anyone can demonstrate a time that a player has been given a puff peice interview after a game to prove their innocence after they've knocked a player out. To which you replied "Happens all the time". You are now saying you can't be arsed proving how it happens...
Happy to be proven wrong - Can you show me one clip / instance where in a final series, a player up for suspension has been able to plead their case to the australian audience via a commentary puff piece at the end of the match and before the tribunal has made a decision.
What is interesting and fairly unprecedented in my view (correct me if i'm wrong) is that the commentary team have interviewed Maynard after the game and given him a chance to prove his innocence. It should be no surprise that Maynard is remorseful in said interview and has said how much he...
Nah that's rubbish mate. Like HairyO, I and many others have said in this thread:
Bevo knows the AFL want the game to "be fast" and they turn a blind eye if it means the game is "Exciting" and "The Ball moves quickly". Bevo has exploited this to its full extent and has been doing it his whole...
It's clearly part of the dogs gameplan. Been doing it for years. There was footage of libba throwing his way through your intraclub in the preseason. It's a practiced art at the dogs.
The dogs have been doing it for years and do it far more than most. Half of libba's disposals would be throws - He is a dirty cheat just like his old man.
A lot of players throw when they have no other option eg the hand is pinned. Dogs just throw it at will to get the ball away quicker when...
Finally someone in the media calling them out for their bull s**t instead of calling them "little flicks".
So many kids watching these games and imitating their favourite players. The handball will be dead in 5 to 10 years and it will be luke beveridge and the bulldogs to blame.
Lol, I'd like to see what you would do if a guy the size and weight of oliver was on top of you with his arm on your neck/throat.
What are you going to do - ask him politely to get off you?
Let's face it, if the umpire correctly pays a free to berry none of this happens and berry wouldnt be...
BT pretty much chooses his team before each game and rather than commentating the game barracks for them - That is his style of commentary. He is a disgrace.
This is exactly my thoughts. When you've got a bloke the size and weight of oliver with his arm at your throat you're pretty much in fight or flight mode trying to get him off.
I partially agree with Hardwicks views after the game that the AFL needs to invest in the technology to get it right.
Where I disagree with his view is that he said if the tech isn't 100% right all the time then it should be left to the umpires.
Hawkeye had a bit of a shakey start in cricket...
No idea how the Dogs have got away with it for so long.
It's clear that Beveridge encourages a gameplan that is centred around Ducking, Diving and Throwing. How they don't get called out on their bullshit is beyond me.
I hate it when the commentators use "little give" or "flicks it" - just...
Lol if you look at that new footage it looks like gardner tries to get between hipwood and the umpire and corral him off his line. If anything I reckon gardner is more responsible for the contact than hipwood.
Redman report was a joke. The problem with tackling Dogs players is they use a technique where once they know they are pinned HTB they are very deceptive at turning it into a free kick in their favor - drop the legs and try to milk a high free kick or fall forwards to get an in the back. It's...
