I can't see North trading for Pick 1 now, unless the price is right, and some of the suggestions from the WC fans are beyond ludicrous.
West Coast's priority is Curtin, while North sees him as gettable now that we have picks 2 and 3, all North have to do is infer that Curtin is on its radar and...
I thought the concept of tying compensation to finishing position was to ensure clubs that finish at the bottom of the ladder aren't fleeced of their "best talent" by the top clubs, prolonging their stay at the bottom.
This isn't about fair, this is about GWS wanting to get pick one to guarantee they can select the player they want which I'm assuming that to be Cadman.
If they are that desparate they should be willing to pay overs to make it attractive.
We are giving up two pick ones and a future 2nd (probably around 20-25) for 2, 3 and a future 1st (probably in the teens).
If Brady spends more than 2 seconds thinking about this deal before saying no, he shouldn't be in the job, this is terrible for us from every angle.
There has been some discussion today about GWS giving North picks 3 & 12 for pick 1, but in this new "mega" deal we only get pick 3 off GWS for pick 1. If we are going to trade with GWS for pick 1, I would hope we do it separately as we are getting shafted royally here.
BTW I'm yet to be...
Sorry Scheissenfest, it's due diligence on the part of the North Melbourne Football Club. If JHF is that desperate to return to his mummy it would be criminal of NMFC not ask Adelaide to see if they would be interested in him, it doesn't matter if he wants to go there or not. It's then up to...
That's for Adelaide to work out, I don't care. If JHF wants to return home we are not doing what is best for NMFC if we don't ask Adelaide what they can offer. It may even get Port's attention and force them to offer what we want and not what they are willing part with.
3.2m over four years for a 19yo, JHF must be a very good player.
If Port think he is worth that much, then two first rounders (no futures) should be the minimum we ask for.
It will be interesting to see what the signing of Greenwood will do with out draft hand.
Is it now possible to package 20, 42 & 47 for a pick in the teens in the hope of selecting a Van Rooyen, Draper or Mac Andrew.
We should walk away from all negotiations with Richmond and select him in the PSD. Also force the Tigers to pick Tarrant up as a free agent if they want him.
Can't see this happening, North are playing nice by agreeing to trade out Tarrant so it doesn't effect your compo claims, I'd expect Richmond to do the same and not make a play for our top two picks.
