I think the Matildas popularity will wear off after the Olympics, particularly if they have an underwhelming campaign. Remember for all the adulation they received last year, they did lose 3 of their 7 games at a World Cup they hosted.

Let's be blunt, the nrl needs as much good publicity as it can get given this is a sport that had nearly 50000 empty seats for a preliminary final last year. Not even rugby league sycophants can spin that.

As I find rugby league a bit boring, I'd love this to happen it won't. Once they change their coach, the Broncos are going to get their house in order in the next few years.
