Three Hundred Dollars!!! Remind me never to buy anything from you! I can't see why a $20 RapidSSL cert wont do the job - encryption is encryption and ass we aren't doing e-commerce.
I dont have control over that side of things as yet, but I don't see any major issues with going the whole...
Not really a fan of the Torch, or O/S 6 in general. I'm using a 9000 although I prefer the 9700. It helps though that I have worked out how to clean the track ball. Lack of memory is also a bit of the killer on the 9000. Apps aren't the BB's strong point but the email/client bb messenger is...
kbps (small 'b') is bits per second kB/s (capital 'B') is bytes per second - there are 8 bits to a byte, hence 9000 bits is around 1100 bytes.
They always advertise in bits per second - becuase big numbers sound better.
Creative Zen, I've had a couple of different ones and this has been teh best for me. One thing I really hate are mp3 players that need software. Small things like incresing the speed of fast forward as you hold fast forward down are important to me.
RAID 1 should do you, that level will protect you against disk failure as it mirrors everything. It'll be fine for games as disk speed isn't the most important things - processing power, graphics card and memory being much more important. If you have got the cash to splash, you could could go...
Voip isn't quite as good as a regular landline, but unless you have really major needs than it is fine. I've been running engin for the past couple of years without any major issues and haven't even had the regular landline plugged in.
There are a couple of providers out there now, Iinet and Internode that immediately spring to mind. I should switch over, but its barely worth it - it will save me $5 a month. Can't see why there should be any issues with it.
Re: AVG increases hits on websites through fake traffic (and slows internet + uses downloads)
Yeah ditto first thing I did - very easy to disable the linkscanner and disable the alert that it is turned off.
Those prices are a major rip - Optus's normal $79 plan includes '$550' worth of calls, not $300. Data ontop would be another $20. Considering what phones you can get from Optus for a $79 plan, such as a blackberry 8310 or samsung i780, then you really have to be a sucker to go for the iphone
Whirlpool is always a good bet. But there are couple of things that would make me hesitate if I were you.
Firstly you will be locked into a 24 month contract, things are changing rapidly in the mobile internet world and even in six months that contract may look mighty expensive.
There is...
Svalbard's nationality isn't that straight-forward. It was a disputed territory between Russia and Norway, but this was resolved by granting Norway sovereignty but allowing Russia unfettered access plus other restrictions such as tax not being allowed to apply, hence the cheap booze. The...
Somalian Internet is based around satellite internet, still frustratingly slow though.
Svalbard rocks! Cheapest place in Scandanavia to buy booze, although it is midway between the artic circle and the North Pole. Made the news about 10 years back after an aeroflot plane carrying russian...
Opera 9.5 >>>>> Firefox 3
Firefox 3 seemed to be largely catching up to Opera 9.2x, but now Opera has gone to 9.5, Firefox 3 has alreday fallen behind.
I always run with the computer behind a NAT router, so firewalls are needed. On the very rare occaission I'm directly connected, I'll use windows firewall, simply because it will do the job well enough if needed only in small doses.
Avoid IE as much as possible, stick with Firefox, or even...
avoid the afl site, it is very heavy, and avoid video streaming. Needless to say avoid bittorrents and the like. You should be fine if you don't want to go anywhere too intersting. Watch out for the excess to, alot of companies charge $150 por more per GB, which is pure gouging.
Access is probably best for you, point and click relatively simple, but you do need to have at least some idea of how a database works, otherwise go with excel.
Is Telstra the ISP as well - ISP's can and do throttle speeds, either becuase you've elected to go at a slower speed or you hav eoverstpped your limit. In this scenario, the test by the technician may be fine if they are using unmtered content.
If you are with Bigpond, then the first mistake...
Download the latest version of Azureus from sourcefourge. You can turn off the Vuze functionality and UI and use the old UI.
Have a read of http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Azureus_2_/_3_and_Vuze
I usuaully keep my ratio at about the 1:1 mark, usually just a bit over. Unless you adding new stuff, I don't see the need to have any more than that. The law of averages says 1:1 is the average ratio.
Got some scripting skills but no work experience? I'm looking for someone to start at the bottom doing PHP in a properly paid job for a few months. Will be working on reports . Some experience with PHP or similar scripting language (eg PERL) required, but this doesn't have to be in a work...
My guess is that it sounds like some loose wire or connector. The physical act of removing the battery may have caused the wires to join, but for how long, who can say?
It could a very expensive exercise to get to the bootom of it and then you might have to get a new laptop anyway, so unless...
