Have you seen them live yet? It's an experience. Maynard can actually pull off that 90 second scream from The Grudge live. Makes these popstars who can't even pull off a decent TV studio gig look like 13 year girls singing in front of the mirror with thier hairbrushes in comparsion.
Tool sound better live than on thier albums and anyone who appreciates Tool knows that's really saying something. That would come from plying your trade on the indy circuit as opposed to being handed the world on a platter like The Veronicas.
One of my all time favourites. First three albums are classics but I'll admit Adore had some akward moments and Machina was extremely patchy. Am I the only Pumpkins fan who isn't looking forward to the reunion? :thumbsd:
Oh and don't forget Machina II which is free on the internet if you're...
Adore is definately the most underrated album of the 90's. I'm surprised no other pumpkinheads mentioned Siamese Dream which at times is superior to Mellon Collie.
For me the rest basically fits in with anyone who listed Radiohead, Tool, Blur, Pulp and Oasis. But add Mr. Bungle's Calafornia...
Tool - Flood (Better live)
Smashing Pumpkins - Porcelina of the Vast Oceans (Turn it up real loud)
Radiohead - Air Bag
VAST - Here
Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond
A Perfect Circle - Magdelena
Mr. Bungle - Quote Unquote (Excluding the silence at the beginning)
I didn't like this album the first time I heard it but it's grown on me. It's rather dark and atmospheric in parts and in others it's more straightforward style of rock than you'd usually expect from Tool. It's not as good as Lateralus or Ænima but it's still worth a listen. My favourite song(s)...
I think you may be mistaking Tool for Evanescence. I'm 24 and I listen to Tool. In fact most of the people I know who listen to Tool are nearing thier thirties.
BTW, The new single is awesome.
Yeah, congrats to SA, NT and WA for choosing a less qimmicky song as your top song. Hehehe.
Seriously though, I think we should have a moments silence.
R.I.P Music
Not really gone but certainly now forgettable.
