Perhaps should be 20/1 seasons or 15/2 seasons combined as the assessment of these players, but that excludes a 19,1.9 season so isn't perfect either as an assessment.
I think Geelong, but neither will be that great.
I expect an average of about 12 (9 to 15) wins for us, 10 ( 7 to 13) for them.
They need Dusty and Lynch to play well and stay healthy to have a reasonable forward line.
I think limiting to 2, at most 3 picks to match does this. If 3 picks, one pick must be 45% of the total, or at least 800 points.
This is so a team winning the flag can match a bid at pick 1.
According to Cal Twomey, the clubs have been asked to comment on the current system, Riley Beveridge...
Formula for a players value should include a factor for games played, coaches association votes ( but not in their last year).
It should be made transparent really.
The players are free to move umder this method.
Its just the signing club has to hand over a simple open formula driven compensation. Only one factor, the age of the player so it is fompleyely transparent, not hidden at all.
Make the signing club pay most of the compo.
An 8year player costs you your future 2nd, 3rd.
The AFL can pay any extra. The extra starts at pick 25, nothing more
I think we have to see how the Tassie team goes first, as well as how GWS and Gold Coast progress in the next 7 years or so.
I don't wish Tassie to not be successful, but they might have trouble retaining players due to the weather ( they might be more or less successful in this area than GWS/...
I think they should give Adelaide, Perth, Sydney a go for 1 year each, then decide how to share going forward.
Melbourne arguably has gather round or close to it each week anyway. But they shouldn't be excluded either, also Brisbane/ Gold Coast.
Stringer may not have quite fulfilled his potential, but isn't a dud selection for Bulldogs.
How affected is he by that broken leg in his draft year? Or does he use that as an excuse to not train hard? Or does he just eat too much junk food?
Maybe none of the above, just a bit unlucky with...
They signed a free agent, they didn't have to do that. Can someone tell me is the gap between the likely pick 1 and pick 2 bigger than normal?
I gather it may well be, but I am not a under age footy follower so am basing thst on Cal Twomeys Gettable show on afl website.
Essendon tried to cheat, didn't succeed. They also got a lot of good draft picks from players who left and from dropping down the ladder.
Unfortunately not many of those players are that good. I don't hate them as such, more pity the players who where robbed of playing at all In 2016 and what...
This is why Clarko isn't there. He was able to win enough games to stop them getting the really low picks they need. They should have got pick 2 this year and got Callaghan ( or traded pick 2 for overs with say freo or gold coast).
With pick 2, Hawthorn would have
picks 2, 21,22
Or 6,8,21,22...
I don't think so. If you don't win a flag, I would say it is due to not having enough A grade players ( which is due to no top 3 picks/ father sons in your team).
I don't think Port has had poor list management ( it at least has been better than Geelong signing Higgins, massively overpaying...
I think he won't be offered one at AFL level first.
If he coached well at VFL level he might be a chance of getting an AFL job.
I don't know exactly how the blame for the drugs saga should be shared between hird/ Robinson/dank/Evans, but I think Hird could have actually got off relatively freely...
As a matter of interest, does anybody know what offers were made for Tom Mitchell draft pick wise.
I think if Wingard, Bruest, Mitchell didn't want to go, Hawthorn should have tried trading some other players, even 23 to 26 year olds.
This is as Mitchell, Wingard should have another 4 years in...
I think the second last round should be a split round, that way everybody in the finals plays two games in a row ( 22nd home/ away match and first week of finals).
