Not surprised. Don't think it would be Cloke though, the guy will be entering retirement around the same time we plan to be pushing for a premiership.

I don't think the potential for Collingwood to completely stuff up the picks lowers their actual value.

I wouldn't. We've got a young list and gaps to fill all over the field. Throwing away all your early draft picks for 1 player will stifle the young talent coming through. I'd much rather find the Aish, Taylor and Gardiner of this year if that's how much Collingwood are asking for. Pick 5 + 25...

Not sure about that. Last year the Lions had picks 7, 22, and 28 which is a slightly worse position than 5, 21, 25. From that we netted James Aish, Lewis Taylor and Darcy Gardiner who are all part of the lions future. I certainly wouldn't trade those 3 for Beams.

5 + 25 seems pretty fair to me. 3 picks inside the top 30 for Beams is a bit much IMO. Hard to do a deal when Collingwood are expecting so much.
