Call me silly but can't see the government at any level giving funding to the stadium being built for a purely 'soccer' stadium. These days it seems they like as much use out of any new stadium or training facility rather than having something go to one purpose.
Name one sport (outside of afl or nrl) that has excelled by having their respective sport predominantly on Pay TV? Almost killed the NBL, is killing the a league and will be interesting to see how it goes with cricket.
One thing the league is struggling for is air time/space. Has to compete with the big bash and AFLW which have exploded in the last 2-3 years. Im honestly not sure what the answer is for the a league?
I think the season has gone too long. In such a small comp it doesnt need to go for this long. They need to get the fixture absolutely smack bang on too. Really hard to keep interest once AFL and NRL start.

How hard is it for the FFA, Cricket Australia and other codes to come together and agree in some form to no scheduling overlap where possible. You have the Melbourne derby (one of the a leagues biggest draw cards) going on saturday night and the melbourne renegades playing a short stroll down...
That stadiums pitch really needs to be looked at. Hasn't been great since the floods of 2011 got it. Honestly I've seen local parks in better nick, borderline OHS risk there tonight.
