Perhaps if your own fans quit obsessing over us perhaps then we'd have nothing to reply to... 1. This thread has nothing to do with Geelong, 2. this thread was started by a Geelong fan. Not hard to understand is it... champ!
I can't believe Geelong fans are still obsessed with this topic.
Ppl can knock '20 all they like, everyone was invested in that season it seems up until they realised their own team wasn't going to win the Flag. Port fans are still spewing over losing that Prelim to us.
As above the media don't tend to look past tomorrow when judging something for their click bait contest. There's good & bad to expansion. Guys like Naitanui were found by the AFL recruiters, who else is out there?
I'm not saying it's "1 way", i am saying Cats fans have an obsession of their own but they only claim we are obsessed. the narrative that was pointed out is in fact incorrect.
I really don't get this narrative at all, a few of us here were involved in a recent thread about hawks v Tigers recent dynasty teams which was started by a Cats fan, 1 Cats fan poster in there is very well known for starting threads about & posting about all things Richmond & openly admitted...
Another factor also is the media's "wildcard round" they are obsessed with is that there are barely 8 Finals worthy sides each year let alone the 12 they are pushing for. With Tassie + potentially a 20th team that may be a bigger issue going fwd. I agree it's great for the game to expand but ppl...
I have always wondered if we'd have won '19 & even '20 had we won '18. '19 wouldn't have been billed as "the year of redemption" by those inside the Club for 1. As i have posted before all the great teams lost 1 they should have won along the way. We learnt a great lesson in '18.
Anyone who followed the trends of the game last yr knew they'd win it, they built into the season perfectly. For mine it was just a matter of could they stay up that long & could they do it in Finals this time around. They did & deserved to win it the way they did.
if we are comparing who they each beat - Sydney & Geelong as both had been up for a while, Freo & GWS had a couple of good yrs & WCE & Crows teams were both 1 yr wonders in terms of being a contender...
What that actually shows is all the great teams lost 1 they should have won at some time during their dominance. We, along with Geelong just lost 1 in between flags, the other 2 at either end of theirs.
Cheers for responding. Although we have all been involved in this discussion (which has been good as i am sure we all miss the Footy) it really is impossible to tell who'd win out of these 4 Teams/era's as it's purely a hypothetical exorcise. We all also played & trained to beat different teams...
It would frustrate me no end that we'd get a lead whittled down to a lesser win during that time. It's a nice problem to have tho but still frustrating nonetheless. At time we even lost games we shouldn't have by giving the opposition a sniff & we couldn't find that extra gear late to stop it...
So when it's held less than 36k when was it last sold out consistently? Keep in mind it's the only ground in the league where opposition fans can't get into the joint in decent numbers, so any lack of crowd is on your own fans.
You clearly missed the context to begin with, even after i explained it to you later on. I'll try again, for the final time.
The reason i mention it, is because your mob seem to think it's an easy Hawks win if they were to play off. What i am saying is it may not be as easy as you think...
Here it is in a nutsehll, yet apparently we are the "insecure" ones. I notice they failed to include thier own team in the conversation, nor have they started a "cats v Hawks" thread. They insecure perhaps?
If u did any shred of research you'd find they are not counted towards the tally. If u want to play that game you can start by telling us how it can be that u claim to have 60k+ Members but can never sell out a game at a ground that holds 36k?
