Yeah certainly didn't mean to imply I was marking down Hawthorn, they will deservedly go down as one of the great teams. Both teams have been very successful, but I think to use your phrase Geelong had more talent than Hawthorn. But you could argue Hawthorn utilized there's better, so don't know...
That's exactly why I said Hawthorns success has been better than Geelongs, but Geelong's talent on paper (and at there best) I'd say is better than Hawthorn. However I think Hawthorn have got success over Geelong, only because of the back to back.
Mitchell polled more than that in 2013 didn't...
On success Hawthorn > Geelong
Call be biased but I believe Geelong at their peak were > Hawthorn now. Brownlow medalists, AA, sustained period of success etc. Since 07 Geelong have been genuine contenders in at least 6 of those years, Hawthorn since 08 have been 4 times.
Pick 4 + Hanley/Rockliff is absurd. Rockliff is as good if not better than Beams and Hanley isn't that far off.
Pies fans, he wants to leave. That means you won't get what his worth. I think pick 4 and a solid (but not exceptional) young player is fair
One team arguably over performed based on the talent on it's list and has lost many of it's past heroes over the past few years, the other wasn't able to capitalize on form that was able to challenge any team in the comp. Will Geelong or North finish higher next year?
