Speaking of the 'classic' *ahem* sci-fi type movie... how about the ultimate cult movie
The adventures of Buckaroo Banzai across the eighth dimension :D
Hopefully the organisers and government in Athens have got their act together - not just in regard to the Olympic Venues, but also the city itself.
When I was there Sept/Oct 2001 the place was a mess (particularly the outskirts) - the 2000 (?) earthquake really turned the city into more of...
I love just about ALL those listed so far....... the list is endless (ah... child of the 80's :D )
I'll add two Rob Lowe movies to the list ..
Youngblood

the classic best-friend-shags-your-mother movie..

speaking of Andrew Maccarthy has anyone...
I saw this yesterday and found it very insightful. It is good to see a movie that does not 'pander' to the ignorance of 'some' American(U.S) people in regard to their government's actions and culpability. (Any government will 'bend' the truth to their own gains... Government is just another...
I Love the Goonies!
I especially like Corey Feldman's spanish 'translation' to the new housekeeper.
On a related note, as Bakes posted earlier, Sean Astin was discussing supposed plans for a 'Goonies 2' (probably with a cast of 'new' young Goonies.. although Sean would like to do a...

1) Jurassic Park (Good Book to Not-so-good Movie)
Read the book when it was first published (no talk of movies then!). I was caught up in the science (! or science 'fiction' !) of it...
Apart from the fact I remember just about every one of those points.... I admit here, for all the world to know....

:( My shame is too much to handle!
Come on 'fess up.. who else owns or did own this shocker of a record?
Books. For both questions.
You can get more depth into the written word, and I prefer to use the authors words to visualise characters, places etc for myself.
I have been disappointed several times by Movies based on books, as due to restrictions on time, budget etc the movies can 'leave...
BBQ Chicken Pizza is good...
But, I was in London last year and came across a Pizza Hut concoction (on the 'all you can eat' bar-thing) with corn on it! Corn! That is just not on! *shudder*
