I was in a similar situation 10 years ago with my then girlfriend, now wife. I earned more than her, so I put more in to the joint account. We worked it out so that after contributing to the joint account we both ended up with similar amounts left over per fortnight.

My 7yo son loves frozen peas. He'll eat them either completely frozen, defrosted by pouring boiling water from the kettle over them or properly cooked like you'd have with a meal. When he asks for some I need to check how he'd like them cooked like a waiter taking a steak order.

That Elon Musk submarine thing is the most terrifying thing I've ever seen. I think I'd opt to stay in the cave and set up my own community of 1 then give that a whirl.
Normally disasters like this don't play out in the media, the event is already over by the time it hits the news. I get the growing feeling this isn't ending well, and because every minute of it is being covered worldwide it may go down as one of the saddest and most iconic events in a long time.
