Late news has Bradshaw dropping out again due to his injury. Hard to know who's going to come in to replace him. Logically, you'd imagine they'd pick another key forward in Merrett to replace a key forward in Bradshaw but who knows. Selwood has also been playing some good footy in the reserves so he's always a chance too. Good news is that it seems that Black will be right to play. The Bulldogs have lost Darcy due to injury for the rest of the season, which is disappointing for them because he's one of the quality ruckmen in the competition. He normally cuts us up so it will give us an advantage in the ruck.

Apart from Bradshaw's withdrawal, I like this lineup. We're starting to produce a nice balanced side which doesn't have too many young players. I'm a big fan of giving the youngsters a go but you need to have a core of experienced players in the team so that the weight of performance doesn't fall on the rookies. I think we should just too much quality around the ground for the Bulldogs, especially with Darcy out.

Defence: Came back into some form last week, although they will have a task this week with a smaller forward-line this week, especially with the loss of Darcy who pushes forward at times. Johnson (another one of my fantasy team regulars) will be the main danger and he usually has reasonable games against us. It will interesting to see how we structure our defence to deal with the smaller line-up, Mal will get Skipper/Minson, depending on who's resting forward, no idea who'll Leppa will get, maybe Rohan Smith and it'll be a toss up about the rest of the forwards. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to see the Bulldogs on TV much this year so my knowledge of their team and structure isn't what it should be. McGrath may get a run down back on occasions for structural purposes.

Midfield: Should be a good battle with Black, Lappin, Voss, Aka, Power versus West, Cross, Cooney, Gilbee and Giansiracusa (I'm guessing that the last two will get some run in the middle at times). West is still an excellent player who's consistently underrated by everyone and Cooney has improved leaps and bounds this year and is kicking goals as a midfielder which is always important. Cross is also having a good year. I'd imagine we'd tag West with Copeland and maybe have B. Scott run with Cross or Cooney. Our midfield should win this week, if everyone keeps on their feet and try and avoid getting injured. We just have to do what we did last week which was getting first hands on the ball and then running it away, not getting second to the ball as we had been doing in previous weeks.

Forward: With Bradshaw out, it's hard to know how we will structure our forward-line. If Merrett comes in we should just plonk him in the square and see what happens. Brown will probably get a run close to goals for breathers because he still won't have the fitness yet to run out a whole game at centre half forward. C. Scott and Sherman will chip in with a couple of goals as they have been doing in the last few weeks. Pike and McGrath will get a run in the forward-line as well, no doubt. With Rawlings out, that's another tall player they'll be missing. Harris will get Merrett or whoever else we send to full-forward and Grant will match up on Brown which should be a good battle but Brown should be too good for him. Again, I think we'll be able to kick a winning score but I'm sure they'll be large improvisational element to it.

Ruck: We might actually have the advantage in the ruck for the first time in a while with Darcy out. Minson will probably be the main ruckman for the Bulldogs and he's still young so I'd expect we should eventually get on top in this area.

My tip: We're at home, we have a basically settled line-up, we have too much height and Aka seems to have a field day against the Bulldogs (Some of Aka's previous game performances against the Bulldogs: 27 possessions and 4 goals, 29 possessions and 4 goals and 27 possessions and 3 goals). We may indeed win two games in a row for the first time this season which would be exciting. Hopefully we can also get through the game without anyone else getting injured which would also be a blessing. Lions by 24.
