Straight setting is when you lose both your finals eg 6-Narm 6-Narm. You know this.

The only sides that got past us were the 2 GF sides. Very proud of the losses, we did our best and weren't good enough. Over achieved by a lot.

Theres lots of little wins in footy. Recruiting a gun. Pulling yourself up from second last. We savour all the wins. We hope to build them into a big win.

Contrast that with a side with the Brownlow and the Coleman, but nothing else to show. What a betrayal of the widely admired Cripps by his gutless mates.

You may have to sack them all and start again. Again.

I agree your team over achieved - but were never a bottom four contender if Pendlebury/Sidebottom/Elliot decided to turn up for the new coach - clearly Buckley lost the players over the salary cap rorting BS - but hey lets not dwell on systemic cheating or historic racist shyte - that comes with Malthouse and McGuire types ok?

Young Daicos was a great pick-up woudl look better in Blue of course ( and he would agree) but outstanding talent. Maynard is my favourite non Carlton player.

Fact is Carlton has a younger list than Collingwood and still developing under a new coach and struggled with massive injuries this year - maybe next year we get a better run and can play top sides with more than 2/5 starting mids on the field - losing all of Hewett/Walsh and Kennedy for the last games was a cruel blow.

As for Coleman medals and Brownlows - Charlie was written off by all and sundry and Cripps was apparently a broken journeyman last year.

Carlton are pretty knowledgeable on 5 year plans. I'll wait for them to tell me where they are at on their banner before I buy into the hype.
