Collingwood vs Essendon 43 pts, 90K
Essendon should rebound after 2 dissappointing games, but it won't be enough, Pies too good.

St. Kilda vs Brisbane 40 pts, 25K
Brisbane struck down by injuries to key players will be undermanned and still without a win. Saints a lot better than pre-season predictions of spoons.

Fremantle vs North Melbourne 30 pts, 35K
Freo will want to bounce back and come out steaming, far too good for NM who are not the best of travellers.

Gold Coast vs GWS 30 pts, 15K
After the first 15 minutes Giants were witches hats against the Crows, Suns will get the chocolates.

Carlton vs West Coast 10 pts, 30K
Can the Blues back up? West Coast were impressive against Port besides the shizenhausen kicking for goal.

Melbourne vs Sydney 60 points, 30K
Stroll in the park for the Swans.

Footscray vs Adelaide 40 pts, 20K
The Crows are starting to click and the Bulldogs are undermanned in defence.

Richmond vs Hawthorn 35 pts, 60K
Richmond have trounced the Hawks a few times of late but are not playing good enough this time in. Hawks to rebound hard.

Port Adelaide vs Geelong 11 pts, 40K
Should be a big crowd, Adelaide Oval is turning into a cauldron and tipping Port in an epic clash.

Collingwood def. Essendon by 22 points - 86k

I think Essendon will put in a far better performance, but the Pies have been impressive this year since R1, and I don't see how anyone can tip Essendon in good conscience after the crap they served up on the weekend. A lot riding on this one.

St.Kilda def. Brisbane by 13 points - 20k or something

Game of football

Fremantle def. North by 42 points - 38k

Freo have more to prove than North this week and over in Perth I don't think North stand a chance.

Gold Coast def. GWS by 22 points - 18k

Gold Coast to quietly keep racking up wins while nobody notices. Radar specialist.

West Coast def. Carlton by 7 points - 29k

Don't really rate either team, but feel Carlton will have used too many petrol tickets to scrape home against the Dogs. Being somewhat valiant on Sunday will cost them this week.

Sydney def. Melbourne by 36 points - 31k

Think Swans will open them up late, expect it to be close at half time.

Adelaide def. Footscray by 67 points - 22k

People will start realising just how good Adelaide can be this year very soon.

Hawthorn def. Richmond by 73 points - 60k

I'm sure someone will brag about how Richmond fans outnumbered Hawks fans 3-1 in the crowd. So enjoy that win, it's about the only good news Richmond will take out of this.

Port Adelaide def. Geelong by 9 points - 43k

Will be an absolute cracker. Going with Port due to the shorter turnaround for the Cats and the location, but could go either way, both teams are very, very good.

Pies by 21 - 89k - The Pies imo have a better capacity to shut down Essendons ball-winners than vice-versa, as well as a much more damaging forward line (Cloke & Elliott the main 2)

Brisbane by 4 - 24k - I think the Saints have blown all expectations out of the water, and will finish midtable. However, with inconsistency likely to be a problem (12-14 kids will do that), I think Brown might get a hold of the young Saints defence (Luke Delaney has had an up & down history v Brown), and Rockliff/Redden/Moloney/Zorko/Mayes should be able to go with the Saints midfield. I would consider this a pretty big upset but they happen

Fremantle by 30 - 38k - Seen nothing over 5 years that will make me pick a Brad Scott team over a Ross Lyon team. Thompson out, Pav in form, we are struggling to find a ruck team that works (Goldy-HMac, Goldy-Petrie and Goldy-Currie all had/have their negatives) while Sandiclarke are working well in tandem. Fyfe with 31 and 2 to be BOG

Gold Coast by 68 - 13k - think they will get onto the young GWS side who will have lost some confidence. Will Mumford and Shaw play? They are worth 2-3sh goals each imo, and so is Ward (will he play?) If all 3 are in I reckon it will be the Suns by 4-5 goals

West Coast by 39 - 31k - looked very impressive, and I think they play Etihad well IIRC? Certainly having dry conditions will help NicNat/Cox/Kennedy/Darling, their midfield should be able to go with the Blues mids...it's hard to know what the win for the Blues means, are the Doggies actually going to be more than a bottom 6 team or was the game a bottom 6 clash? Are the Blues back and can they take it to the Eagles??

Sydney by 33 - 25k - Interesting to see how Roos will go against his old side, don't know how many (core) players are left from his day though? Dees lead by Jones and Dawes will take it to the Swans for 3/4's I reckon and then the Swans will change up a gear and record an easy win

Adelaide by 35 - 21k - again, hard to get a read on these two teams...are the Crows just a step behind Port/Geelong/Sydney (i.e. top 4-6 teams) and a step ahead of bottom 6 teams, or are they just not that good? Where do the Dogs sit? Think the undermanned Dogs defence combined with some potency in the Crows forward line will mean a Crows win, but restrict Dangerfield, no Douglas (no Van Berlo & Vince either), and you have just Sloane + Thompson left v Cooney, Griffen, Boyd, Libba, Macrae, Dahlhaus...

Richmond by 18 - 69k - Tigers to continue their run? Not that it means anything, Hawks only lose to Cats/Tigers it seems (birds scared of felines) yet have still gone GF-Premiers last 2 years, while Tigers have a solitary finals loss in the same time. Rance & Deledio could be important ins?

Port by 6 - 50k - almost as big a crowd as the Showdown I reckon, will be huge. Port with a huge crowd behind them up against the Cats who have been susceptible to dropping consecutive games/games after the Hawks clash over the years will ride a wave of momentum and record a massive team-building victory

Yeah. That's all we've got left o_O

Not sure what Vince has to do with anything.

Err midfield depth can't always be replaced over a pre-season? Add to that you've got Douglas off to the tribunal for a high off the ball bump (i.e. gone) and no Van Berlo.

I don't think either Crouch brothers or Wright have done a whole lot consistently in their careers, and if they become the 3rd or 4th best midfielders on the day (i.e. Sloane-Thompson 1-2 with Danger restricted), then you would get pumped by Cooney-Griffen-Libba-Boyd-Macrae

Collingwood Vs Essendon 22pts 88K
- Should make a statement and win this. Big game and could go either way. Unless it rains, where I will engrave Collingwood to win.

St Kilda Vs Brisbane 31pts 18K
- St Kilda will be 4-2 after this game I reckon. Who would have thought!

Fremantle Vs North Melbourne 32pts 39K
-Fremantle too good for North out in the west

Gold Coast Vs GWS 23pts 17K
- Gold Coast comfortably.

Carlton Vs West Coast 15pts 29K
-I don't think West Coast are as good as the ladder suggests. Both have their injury problems, but I think Carlton should get up.

Melbourne Vs Sydney 32pts 28K
- Sydney comfortably

Western Bulldogs Vs Adelaide 12pts 22K
- Bulldogs aren't too bad, but Adelaide should get the job done, although they did lose this last year. Dangerfield to have another great game.

Richmond Vs Hawthorn 16pts 65K
-Going to go out on a limb and tip the upset here.

Port Adelaide Vs Geelong 38pt 48K
-Geelong seem to play very well against Port Adelaide, so I am going with them. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Port got up. Such an exciting team.

Err midfield depth can't exactly be replaced over a pre-season?
Sloane/Thompson are very good midfielders, but yeah, after that its your kids in Grigg, Kerridge, M Crouch etc.

Collingwood vs Essendon - 11 pts (89k) Tight game - Bombers wont play another shocker.
St. Kilda vs Brisbane - 33 pts (25k) - Saints on a roll & on the rise.
Fremantle vs North Melbourne - 15 pts (42k) Home ground to get them home
Gold Coast vs GWS - 19 pts, (20k) Hard fought contest with the Suns prevailing.
Carlton vs West Coast - 23 pts, (33k) Home game & increased confidence will see them get home.
Melbourne vs Sydney - 49 pts, (26k) Demons will have their moments but Swans too tough.
Western Bulldogs vs Adelaide - 21 points, (24k) Doggies not to be underestimated.
Richmond vs Hawthorn - 32 pts, (56k) Hawks to bounce back with a win.
Port Adelaide vs Geelong - 3 pts, (46k) Adelaide Oval will host a cliff hanger.

Vince did nothing for us last year though. Let's not forget that we traded him.

I don't think either Crouch brothers or Wright have done a whole lot consistently in their careers

Huh? Matt has played 3 games. How can you judge consistency on that?

and if they become the 3rd or 4th best midfielders on the day (i.e. Sloane-Thompson 1-2 with Danger restricted), then you would get pumped by Cooney-Griffen-Libba-Boyd-Macrae

You've forgetten our best mid this year, Brodie Smith. Also left out Mackay, our best vs St Kilda.

Don't know much about Adelaide. Fourth highest scoring side in the AFL currently. Midfield has a few more good players than the ones chosen. David McKay BOG 2 weeks ago, 3 game player Matt Crouch has had 69 disposals in 2 1/4 games, Sam Jacobs form has been outstanding, as has Talia as usual, young players like Kerridge, Wright, Jaensch, Petrenko are all playing very well and having very good seasons. Yes the dogs players named are excellent but am confident our midfield can more than match them.
