Big negative is Johnson looking really sore and unstable

More then likely facing Sydney next week without Mcpharlin and Johnson will be a HUGE ask considering they've got Franklin/Tippet/Goodes/Reid

We could be severely undersized

Still think we are a chance :)

I think Macca may be back. I know he was struggling but has to be fitter than Johnno ATM

Spurr is in career best form, one really bad blue which cost a goal but almost never beaten 1 on 1 anymore and he looks to play on at every opportunity. Gun.

Really missed Silvagni today, understatement and a half to say one of Silvagni/McPharlin has to come in next week.

Next time we play Port though can we please tag Robbie Gray?

Can anyone get Dawson's grab in GIF FORM? Would love to post it on the main board every time someone talks him down :D :D
Here ya go.

Sure hope not (unless he's absolutely right, which I doubt). MJ will be run off, as he was massively by Westoff today. We've already seen how Elvis goes half baked and though I love the guy, against Sydney, he'll get found out. Id rather play a fully fit SCOS than a half fit Elvis. Or, if it comes to it, Elvis for MJ ... no way we can carry two injured talls back there, we'll be too slow.

Positives:
- Tabs!!! He's just getting better & better
- Pav playing like he's 22 again
- Our small man brigade. Walters & Ballas must love playing with each other again
- Mayne - peaking at the right time of year. What a game.
- Those 9 unanswered goals where we absolutely towelled up Port
- Clarke showing while he's still on the list. If for any reason we lose Sandi in the finals, or next year, I'd feel confident with him as our #1 ruckman.
- Our Dawson sure does know how to spoil a ball. And today.. he even took a mark!

Negatives:
- Running out of legs after we ran out of rotations
- A few guys went missing over different parts of the game. Mundy & Hill both seemed to get tagged at parts but weren't able to shake it off, and didn't have a big enough presence when they weren't tagged
- Johnno looks insanely proppy out there. I'm concerned that we're running him into the ground - but not literally running him cos he didn't look like he had the ability to run
- Dawson. If you take a speccy like that don't ruin it by giving off the worst handball of your career.

It's a little scary what a proper forward structure is doing for Pav, has wound back the clock big time recently. Taking contested marks, defensively good and his decision making and field kicking has been excellent. Got us out of a pinch today in a few stoppages with pure class.

Johno. Was at the game, it looked like he'd left his crutches in the changeroom.

Macca virtually ruled himself out in an interview today.

Not sure mate, Macca was interviewed at half time by Derm and from what he said he wouldn't be playing next week and didn't sound promising for the week after either. He could just be trying to not give away anything though so you never know

We saw the best and worst of the coaching team today. Dropping Silvagni and playing MJ, then leaving MJ on Westhoff for the whole bloody game when Westhoff was killing him was baffling.
But throwing Pav into some centre bounces (and Clarke when Sandi was rucking) changed the whole game. God I had almost forgotten how amazing Pavlich is as a midfielder, just those few cameos makes you understand that there was one six time all Australian out there playing, and 43 others that will never get to his heights

You know Pav must be fully fit to go in the middle. Good signs.

Winning.
The forward line. The potency.
Taking it easy in the last quarter - good chance to rest up, the boys should be 100% ready for next week.
Ballantyne standing tall in the 2nd half
Lachieeeeeee leading from the front in the absence of Fyfe, and lesser ball-winning games from Hill and Mundy.

Nothing really. Any injuries can be compensated, any parts where Port got a run-on, we were solid, and then push on to get a few goals of our own.

Oh also, another BIG positive,
When Tabs took the mark about 35m out, and was shoved over by Chaplin. Ballantyne and Walters (I think) were straight in there to shove Chaplin right back and stand up for the young man. Great team solidarity. Forward line working as a real unit.

Positives -
Kicking a winning score over a hundred. 9 goals in a row!
Ballas working his way in and kicking a bag in the second.
Hanging on despite having no more interchanges in the last 5 minutes. Very courageous win.
Taberner is coming on in leaps and bounds. Really giving Pav a chop out.
Mayne returning to form. He was very important this game.
Clarke a s**t forward, but was good as 1st ruck while Sandi was being rested.
No Fyfe, no worries. (I lie - I was very worried.)

Negatives
Clearance and stoppage work in the first half. Bring that to Sydney and we'll be cooked.
Conceding 5 goals late. Ross will not be happy.
Johnno looking very proppy. We've fixed our front - we need more tall backs to cover us.
*******. Channel. 7. How can this game be on two hour delay?

I'm not worried about conceding those 5 goals...we took our foot off the pedal and prepared for next week. Ross would have wanted no injuries and no reports...we did as much as we needed to do.

I'm confident!

We had also run out of rotations. Lyon had used up all our gas tickets. Perhaps taking a gamble. perhaps a stuff up. But we were home.

We were the better team when it mattered most.
Forward line so strong we can afford to rotate Pav through the middle
Our best midfielder will be 3 weeks fresh and chomping at the bit
Zac Dawson - September specialist.
Lachie Neale killing it.
Baring any injuries/suspensions, and excluding Macca, we'll be going in to next week with our best 22 on the field.

-
Suban didn't do much, expect him to be dropped for Fyfe/
Mundy and Hill were in and out of it (not surprisingly they had the most impact during our 9 goal run)
Gave Port too many easy clearances. Hopefully Fyfe can help stem that.

the biggest positive for me is that we are finally capable of piling on goals quickly.
Taberner coming good is just so huge. And don't underestimate how well Clarke is dragging a good defender off the contest either. Ross mentioned that in his presser. Will Walters and Balla in good form, Mayne the wrecking ball and Crozier lively its a whole new dynamic down there.

That plus most of our team are hitting reasonable form. Spurr is back and Sutty just kills his man and runs off all day.
