West Coast are the most underrated team right now.

They should make the 8 with that list and after a year of experience with Adam Simpson. However, despite how good their list is, it never quite clicks for them. They lose too many games after being in a winning position and they roll over pretty quick when the going gets tough. The forwards will never live up to their potential with rubbish midfielders spraying it to them.

After what I saw last year, Yeo is the key, I reckon.

West Coast fans, where does Yeo fit in? Obviously he's best 22 but during the layoff I've seen everything from small defender to outside mid to inside mid to small forward suggested for him, anything resembling a consensus with this bloke?

If they are the most underrated though then it's an impressive feat given they were the most overrated two seasons ago, that takes some doing.

Yeo definitely has to establish himself as a mid this year for West Coast to have a real shot at anything IMO. We have guys that can run off half back, what we need are decent sized mids with pace that can use their pace and size to win the footy and then use the ball to deliver to our forwards advantage. Whether he can do that successfully remains to be seen. Hopefully a couple of the young mids drafted this year can step up in the next few seasons as well because what we have is a decent spine with a midfield thats sorely lacking.

Look WC are a good team, just not quite a top 8 team as yet. Midfield just doesn't cut it with the best. Talls are very good, but without a midfield it's very hard to maximise their ability.

If you posted this on the Eagles board you'd probably get unanimous agreement. Our issues and strengths and weaknesses are well known and I don't think any of us (thread starter excluded) disputes where we are at in relation to the rest of the competition.

Everyone's sleeping on us.

Best Coast going to show us again why they are one of the most successful teams since the birth of a national comp.

Even though we just lost the GOAT ruckman and a top 10 GOAT full back, we're priming for a top 8 position.

We got the Brownlow medalist himself, Priddis.

Expect a HUGE season from Chris Masten.

Keep the eyes peeled for Yeo (Adam Hunter v2)

Schofield will continue his rise to stardom.

The Kennedy/Lecras/Darling FWD tandem is the best in the game.

Mcginnity is whatever you need him to be. Essentially a beefed up Rowan Jones.
.

All this fapping over mediocre players such as Yeo and McGinnity and you forgot your real exciting up and comer, Jeremy McGovern.

All the pieces are here.

Adam Simpson is the final piece. With more time with the Best Coast under his belt, expect his gameplan to shine bright.

Don't sleep on us. Please don't.
Your forward line is amazing.....

But if some of your mids became a little harder we wouldnt have people like priddis win a brownlow.....oh and you would be a top 8 team for sure.

Oh hey it's this thread again.

West Coast has gone past Freo this season and are looking scary now. Their game plan is similar to Hawthorn's but with more pace. Their structures are first class. Definitely the real deal.

We're pretty much Hawthorn-lite. No surprises given where Simpson learnt his craft as an assistant.

However, I think we'll be exposed against the real thing in two weeks - a much harder, experienced, drilled outfit. Yours to lose without a doubt.
