Mitchell Pearce - wtf?

Josh Massoud broke the story using the words on ch7 " This will blow the Joel Monaghan incident out of the water " which hasn't helped.

Joels was worse because...well , just because but Mitchell's is worse because he has form and is a more prominent name :drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk::drunk:

Can't wait for the front page of the DT tomorrow

Yeah, having seen the video, I have to say the reporting leading up to it is all a bit ridiculous. He absolutely comes across like a moron and nobody I'd like to have a drink around but it's hardly anything worthy of complete moral outrage. The woman whose house he was at handled the situation well and that should have been it. Whoever secretly filmed a person at a house party and then sold it on to media is a grub and worth as much, if not more, derision as Pearce.

Or....if you mix and match the acts....

Urinates on dog
Performs lewd act on woman
Tries to pash himself

Urinates on woman
Tries to pash dog
Performs lewd act on himself

etc
It was

Dry doggy styled dog
Realisation of incontinence (could have occurred simultaneously or before dry doggy style)
Attempts to pash woman

Actually the attempt may have been first, not sure because the video was split into two.

When did everyone become so outraged about everything? Yeah what he did makes him look like a complete moron, but FFS people demanding he loses his job over mucking around with a dog.. he didnt **** it for christs sake.

Not sure what happened with him kissing that woman and pissing yourself is a bit ordinary, but if the headline is about him simulating sex with a dog.. people need to lighten up and stopped getting sucked in by the media trying to make mountains out of mole hills all the time
If he wants to earn megabucks as a professional sportsman he has to realize that there are certain obligations that go with that. That would have been made perfectly clear to him.

Certainly I know that if I was told that to be paid $500,000 a year (or whatever) I had to refrain from behaviour which could be considered demeaning to the image of the sport - like, oh, I don't know, perhaps, as an "out there" example, bestiality (be it real or simulated) - I think I could actually manage to do that.

I found a new favourite word the other day (in relation to Mr Trump actually). It was ****whistle. If all this is true about Mitchell, I think it applies to him perfectly.

I feel sorry for his old man. From all reports a highly decent human being. He must be thinking to himself "where the hell did I go wrong?". Poor bastard. :(

To think such a f-wit has come from a true Balmain champion just boggles my mind.:eek:

He'll be on his final warning now. Perhaps Mitchell can follow Wayne's lead and "NEVER DRINK AGAIN"

I think he's stuffed

No, this is the bloody ROOSTERS we're talking about here. He'll lose the captaincy, and get probably a 5-6 game ban.
That's all. It's his 3rd or 4th indiscretion yet he won't be put in the Joel Monaghan or Todd Carney position of going to the Super League.

I'm a Rooster - he's toast

Agreed.

He made a dick of himself but he didn't hurt anyone. Typical media bs.

Same s**t with Carney he got stuffed over

Yeah just another media beat up. He probably just split a drink too instead of 'pissing' himself.

Absolute beat up...can't believe it. Just saw the footage. He's just being a drunk dickhead.

These episodes damage the NRL and rugby league. I doubt those working at the community level in VIC, WA, SA and TAS laugh them off as inconsequential.

I'm more concerned about these leeches that are filming/taking photos of pissed footballers or footballers doing and trying to make money by sending to the media.

No, you're not.

The lesbian should have kissed him and the guy filming the incident should be jailed.

Some of you guys should get a ******* clue.

I don't know where you go with this - he's surely finished in the NRL - total *******
It's in his genes. A close "sober" relative of his tried to force himself on me several years ago. I attempted to leave but jumped in my car as I unlocked it and then proceeded to masturbate. Charming lot!

Former rugby league star Mark Geyer has blasted Mitchell Pearce over his drunken Australia Day incident, saying the Roosters playmaker should be banned from the NRL for 12 months.

Video footage, screened on Nine Network show A Current Affair on Wednesday night, showed a female rejecting Pearce's advances, before the 26-year-old Roosters skipper turned his attention to a dog.

The woman also accused the Roosters star of urinating on himself and the couch during the clip.

Speaking on Triple M on Thursday morning, Geyer explained how his phone lit up with dozens of text messages from friends and colleagues asking about the video, which he wanted to see for himself before making a judgement.

After watching the footage, Geyer slammed Pearce for his despicable behaviour and implored the NRL to take a tough stance over the NSW halfback's behaviour.

"He needs to be suspended for 12 months, get a real job away from football and undergo counselling and rehabilitation," Geyer said.

"The blame game card cannot be played anymore. This is a bloke who's 26; he's not a rookie.

"This is Pearce's fourth or fifth indiscretion and he needs to be taken out of the system that he joined as a kid to appreciate what he's got.

"Mitchell Pearce needs help. He's obviously powerless when affected by alcohol and cannot control his behaviour.

"If I saw my son on a video recording acting that way, I'd kick his arse from here to Katoomba.

"Today should be the day that the line is drawn in the sand in Mitchell Pearce's rugby league career. I saw a bloke next-level drunk.

"I saw a bloke with a massive problem, forcing himself onto a girl in her own home. Was it the worse thing I've ever seen? Probably not, but it's right up there."

The Roosters released a statement on Thursday morning, 12 hours after footage was aired, saying Pearce would not be involved with the club until an internal investigation was completed.

There is a good chance the club will strip Pearce of the captaincy, while there are reports he may be fined $50,000 as well as being banned from travelling to England for the World Club Challenge.

Parramatta legend Peter Sterling also made his disappointment clear, saying Pearce deserved whatever punishment was thrown his way.

"The guys have got every right to be out on Australia Day, on a boat enjoying themselves. The vast majority of the Roosters had a great time and went home; Mitchell should have done the same thing. He'll pay the consequences." Sterling said.

"It's so unnecessary and our players need to get their head around the fact of what they have to jeopardise and no matter where you are these days, someone is filming and you have to be totally aware of that and on top of it."

Meanwhile, Catharine Lumby, who has worked with the NRL over the past decade as a gender adviser, agreed that Pearce should get the sack.

"My view is get off the paddock if you're going to behave like that to women," Lumby told ABC radio.

"There is no excuse. These guys have been educated and given opportunities to stand up and do the right thing since they were rookies.

"I think the NRL has shown leadership on treatment of women and I think that the guys who want to breach that code, they should not be on the paddock and they should be taken off."
