After having the bye in the very first week, Fighting Furies were hoping to start their season with a win. Bears were hoping to not lose again after their round 1 loss to the Royals. Furies got off to a flyer with 4 of the first 5 goals of the game. Las Vegas tried to hit back in the second quarter but Furies were well in control of the game and walked all over them to finish as 39 point victors.
NaturalDisaster showed his new teammates how it's done, with 25 disposals, 9 hitouts and 2 goals. James Colorado stepped up to the plate in their new co-captaincy role with 20 disposals and 3 goals to lead from the front. crazywildhorse was solid on the wing with 24 disposals and 6 marks. Electronic_Renaissance put in a great performance with 26 disposals, 5 tackles and a goal. Millky95 and Broken combined for 13 tackles in the midfield.

Wonders and Bombers both won their round 1 fixtures and were squaring off to see which team would entrench themselves early inside the top 8. The Wonders kicked ahead early in the first quarter to put themselves up 3 goals to 1. The second quarter was where Baghdad got the momentum and kicked themselves into the lead at half-time. From there it was all Baghdad as they ran away 28 point victors after a dominant second half.
Cadsky (Moz) kept the scoreboard ticking over for the Wonders with 5 goals. NinjaSwan and SM got equal most marks in the game with 7 marks each. Brenton Davy and damicky combined for 11 tackles in the midfield. gab213 in just their second game in sweet-fa put together a great performance of 21 disposals, 5 marks and 2 goals. Bovo had the most frees for this game with 5. iDon kicked 4 goals and was arguably the difference maker in-front of goal on the day.

East Side Phoenix were coming off another defeat at the hands of the Roys and were desperate to get on the winners list this season. Mount Buller were hoping to continue their stellar form to start the season. Both teams wrestled for control of the game early on, but neither team to break away. It wasn't until the second quarter when the Demons kicked 7 goals to 2 that they started dominating the game. Phoenix would do everything they could to try and get back into the contest, but could never quite reach Mount Buller as they ended up losing by 11 points.
sante kick started his brilliant season with 30 disposals, 7 marks and a goal. Heardy_101 had probably their best game this season with 26 disposals and 6 marks. manangatang and Crimsonviolet (Greenery ) were once again gathering touches everywhere on the wings. Hate turned back the clock to put in a great ruck performance with 29 disposals, 12 hitouts and a goal.
MP_ was everywhere on the ground, gathering 30 disposals, 7 tackles and a goal. akkaps was the top tackler on the day with 10 to their name. thewizardmelon matched it with Hate for the majority of the game with 18 hitouts, 20 disposals and a goal of his own. Retiree-to-be Chipmunk jump started his brilliant final season with 29 disposals and 6 marks from the center square.

Seems legit. Tigerturbulance and Callums_Guns obviously bleached their hair or somthing to get the qumps attention.@Elton Johns Wig had an outstanding game with 30 disposals, 9 marks and a goal. @Callums_Guns was the best tackler on the day with 10 tackles. @Tigerturbulance and @U2tigers continued their great start to the season with 25 and 26 disposals to go along with their goal each. @Bonz kicked 7 goals to once again lead the FRED medal early in the season. @CakeEater and @nahnah combined for 13 tackles in the midfield.

After 2 rounds, both teams were sitting on 1 win. Furies had a bye in round 1 and a solid win over the Bears in round 2, while the Royals were looking to rebound from a humiliating home shellacking at the hands of the new boys - or more specifically, the Old Boys.
The Furies got off to a flying start, with multiple Pickitt goals giving them a handy lead midway through the first but after a couple of early misses, The Filth Wizard got into his stride and with a supporting cast including Cakeeater, finished the quarter a couple of goals to the good.
Dominic03 and The Filth Wizard played a big part in what was an entertaining tit-for-tat, goal-for-goal second quarter. No less than 11 different goal kickers, including Toump Ass and Ulahoopski, added 15 goals but the teams could barely be separated at half time, with the scoreboard showing 13.6.84 - 12.2.74 in favour of the home team.
After the main break, the Royals put their foot down with more goals from The Filth Wizard and SarahSmiles and it looked like they might run away to a big win here. But while Chronz and tugga reduced the deficit in the last quarter, the Royals ran out 18 point winners.

The Bears had suffered a heavy loss at the hands of the Furies last week, and were only avoiding propping up the whole ladder because today's opponents had annihilated the Warriors to the tune of 15 goals last week. On paper at least, this one looked like an easy one to call.
It's a good job games are not played on paper. This game was tight in the opening quarter with beez and Barrybran notching for the Gumbies and Cap and Test Tickle responding. Only a shocking miss by King_Steele stopped this from being dead even at the first break.
Campaigner for good opened the scoring in the 2nd and but the Bears in front. However, from then on the game played out to form. Barrybran and beez waltzed through the Bears 'defence' to help the Gumbies take a 3 goal lead into the main break.
The Bears tried hard and opened the scoring in the third through Cap, who also scored the last of the quarter. That turned out to be the last Bears goal of the day. Multiple behinds and a single Gumbies goal from GWS Goose was enough to keep the Gumbies in front in the third before beez (again) and Barrybran (again) kicked the Gumbies to an in the end pretty comfortable 35 point win.

Both teams were looking out for their first win of the season in this one, having lost their first two games and only being separated on the bottom by percentage. Surely one of them had to grab their first 4-pointer here? Surely they wouldn't share them?
Dragons stormed out of the blocks, with Pie 4 Life getting a goal in the opening minute. Serial_Thrilla snagged one too before Dinsdale and TheInjuryFactory goaled late to bring the score back to within a kick.
Dragons started the second quarter much like the first, with Vandohawk grabbing a couple to extend their lead but once again the Warriors stormed back late with a hat-trick from FurTheWin. A late goal from DragoDelph was a dagger through the hearts of the Warriors seconds before the half time siren.
The back and forth continued in the third term and it looked like we had a real contest on our hands going into the last change. In the final term, the Dragons could have run away with this but for bad kicking - 5 behinds in a row in the last 10 minutes could have really told a different story but in the end when you're scrambling for a win, you take what you can get.
