Without attempting to make excuses. Thinking about it coming off a 5 day break and having injuries on the bench meant we were very little chance in the last quarter
True- but we missed our opportunities by kicking inaccurately.

Yes maybe we still would’ve lost given your points above, but the players totally ****ed it. They need to take responsibility for it. And no more bullshit words either. I don’t won’t to hear from them until they turn it around.

I genuinely ask myself this same question 20 fricken times a game..

Is it because our Mids/Half Backs don't have the skill to lower their eyes and hit a leading target?

Or is it our Forwards don't posses the football nouse to create the required leading patterns?

Is it both?

Someone....anyone??
Charlie and Harry kicked 100 between them last year… what’s different this year, can you remember the last time either of them were hit, lace out on the chest? I can’t.

It’s the game plan.

For those referring to execution in front of goals, we still lost in the scoring shot department (22-21). Yes, we were superior for inside 50s but being evening the goal-behind ratio wouldn’t have necessarily garnered a win.

Accuracy is appalling but there are alarm bells in various other areas.

Is it gameplan, lack of fitness, work ethic or a combination of all? That every week, we seem to be under pressure when disposing of the ball. We are outnumbered at contests and at the fall of the ball. The other team win possession & get down to their end with minimal fuss, they (seem to) have players in space all the way down the ground.

With the injuries out of tonight, there would be a few players breathing a sigh of relief that they likely won't be dropped now. Voss unlikely to make too many changes.
Motlop 1 tackle.....how many missed tackles? And 1 occasion where he stopped running after missing the tackle in the second quarter. Swans player had time to compose himself, have a look upfield & dispose of it. If Motlop kept running, could've nailed him on the second attempt.
Harry - if not dropped, played anywhere but forward. I'd back the majority of BigFooty posters to kick better than him. His kicking for goal is an absolute joke at the moment.
Acres is a downhill skier. Was going ok when we were winning, but has been diabolical over the last month.
I could name most players, I just don't have the energy to do it.....this club has drained me.

I have always said kicking skills are the most important skill in modern football we recruited a hack kick from freo for chips a hack first round pick we don’t have a a specialized kicking coach we just expect but don’t value kicking skills
.I would trade Harry he’s no good for the team I don’t care if he gets better some where else take a firstround pick use the salary on a free agent. There seems to be no routine to Harry or Charly like some naf assistant coach is letting them do what doesn’t work
For Christ sake get fev in or rocka
Crazy Voss says there ok there is a problem fix it you stubborn mule Fev changed how he held approached the ball he played for Carlton he was of the top 5 best kicks for goal ever bring him in pride is the downfall of many men and pretend leaders

It’s all up stairs - take what you will from that

Well our forward line set up seems to be push all the small forwards up the ground, bomb it in long to the talls and a five on two contest and then when the ball hits the ground we have no crumbers around the pack and the opposition then just walks it out of the forward line.

Rinse and repeat.

If I was Harry McKay, but with the smallest dose of personal pride, I'd be down the local park having 100 shots for goal every day. All this stuff we hear about, oh its the soft cap, we can't have a specialist goalkicking coach, sports science won't allow it because it puts too much stress on his leg etc. I'd be utterly humiliated if I was him and crazy keen to fix it myself. Or hire a coach out of your own pocket and work on it in your own time. He's worse than useless if he can't kick for goal.

Everyone is so dramatic. This is a perfectly valid excuse. There were like 4-5 injuries lol.

We still had more shots than Sydney even with getting run over the top in Q4.

Really unfortunate some of the set shot kicking (Charlie into the man on the mark, but we go the goal anyway... Harry McKay sigh)

Just my opinion but the season is nowhere near over, some of the injured players are very easily replaced, especially in the short term with Fisher/Cincotta etc. Hoping we go 2-1 (3-0 would be a tad too optimistic lol) before the bye then assess.
Agree it’s nowhere near over but I’m at a bit of a loss to understand at what point the players turn up.

If they haven’t already, they do really need to sit down and discuss what they are actually about

How has a game plan got anything to do with our two key forwards kicking accurately?

Is the game plan to kick it crap?

This club has a losing culture and the signs were there when Voss backed up McKay's "around the corner" method of kicking goals. That he trusts the forwards on it. No. They're stupid and need external help from people who know how to kick better than them, never be ashamed to ask for help if you need it. Doesn't make you a lesser person. Swallow your pride, idiot footballers, be honest with yourselves and only then will you be better.

To be fair to Murph he achieved more on field than Doc or Cripps ever will, but I have no doubt that era is where the rot really set in
That entire era must be cut out of the club completely to truly form a new identity. But the club insists to hang on at any opportunity.

It should have been done 3 years ago.

Even worse, they won’t realise this obvious action and it won’t happen at all.

The next generation of losers will be cultivated in the environment of past losers and the cycle repeats.

Poor old Kennedy, the contested ball beast watching Hayward waltz into an open goal in the forward pocket as he tried to assess his newly found home as a lockdown defender.
Good in game experience. Green shoots.
Seriously, like I said early, wtf is he doing down back while Doc is playing as a Mid/FWD….sorry, but that has Crazy Vossy written all over it
