Review Good bad ugly vs Port Adelaide R8 2024

Poort have 0 depth.

A few injuries and they look a very flaky team... Outside a flashy midfield, they really are a below average team.

Coke Can Ken is a total one trick pony and a total desperate fool for playing Wozee.

What do you mean no depth?

Their reserves kicked 8.14 to go with their 5.18 from their senior team!

Combined score of 13.32 to our 28.13

He was brought on to lock the game down. 7 Defensive pressure acts in 17% game time is huge. He wasn't brought on for his run and carry when we're trying to protect a lead.

Boggles the mind that some people don't understand this stuff.
Why an earth would we go with that game plan 23pts up?

What is with people praising Ken's presser, and taking the blame for the decision to play Rozee?

'Oh, Ken is so brave, he's taking responsibility.'

Every man and his dog knew that Rozee shouldn't play. Everyone knew he'd be a liability and have a risk of injuring his hamstring further.

'I saw him running and kicking the ball far!'

Ah yes, that should be enough to allow him to play despite a 'nick' in the hamstring, and a high pressure night Showdown match in cool weather after a six day break.

It's not brave. It is trying to get ahead of criticism.

If anything, the decision to play him was negligent, and saying he 'owns the decision' after the match should not let him off the hook.
Because its in stark contrast to Nicks who despite it being obvious to every man and his dog blamed the players instead of acknowledging his changed game plan and vanilla midfield mix were to blame.

Jones was bad. But cook was invisible.

1 touch in the 1st qtr.
2 touches in the 2nd qtr and a tackle.
1 touch in the 3rd quarter.
1 tackle in the last quarter.

71% TOG.
And jones 12 disposals at 30% efficiency.
Rather someone that gets less of it, kicks a goal and doesn’t turn it over.

The point isn't about a comparison between coaches.

The point is about unnecessary risk to an obviously injured player. This isn't talking about game plan.

A very basic comparison when it comes to experience of Adelaide’s back lines and Ports forward lines (which is actually a bit hard to work out who is a forward).

Butts, Jones, Curtin, Worrell, Keane, Michaelanny, Nankervis, Hinge.
Total games 282.

Marshall, Dixon, Georgiades, Boak, BJ, Rioli, McEntee, Mead, Burgoyne.
Total games 1066.

Ken is the real hero, not the firemen, teachers or SES.

People are quick to excuse Jones because he lays a good bump or wins a good hardball. Unfortunately, this is followed by nothing for the remainder of the game.

How long can we blame his injury from last year and just accept that this is his level?

He is a poor mans Luke Brown or David Mackay, depending on where he is playing.

Oh dear.... not sure anyone has caught this yet, tempted to let the Port board know...

I've spotted Rozee trying to be subtle and stretch the hammy out less than 5 mins into the first Q.

He then feels his hammy, so you can bet he's aware of it THAT early into the game...

Footage is at 7.45 on the full replay

I thought they stopped uploading full replays when Kayo came in. Interesting,

This is completely backwards I think. People on this board notice mistakes a lot more than they notice players who just contribute nothing, but just because you notice someone messing up doesn't mean their net contribution was negative. A player who wins the footy and does some good and some bad things with it is usually a lot better than a player who never touches the ball.

Is he 'owning' it because they aren't actually his decisions?
THought the same thing. Definitely makes it easier to publicly 'own' something when it's widely known that they call as to whether he was ok to play or not would have come from others in the club. Take one for the team etc..

Crouch's game not getting enough credit, very much up there with his Carlton performance. Just so strong in the contest and allows us to keep the ball moving forward. Putting together a strong season.

Himmelberg actually had a decent 2nd half after starting very slowly, still easily our best option until RT is fit. Our forwardline looks a lot more threatening with him instead of Gollant/Burgess.

Surely Rankine has a goal of the year contender? He collected that ball on the wing, broke the Houston tackle and then nailed the kick from 50 with the outside of his boot!
